That was a poor first half, second to everything and nothing up front. Time for some Gary magic.
Umerah offers nothing and just concedes free kicks. Replace with Waters, if fit or Andrews and reshape.
Warren is on a yellow, that also concerns me, maybe time for Kerr.
Hall and Randell being outplayed, we have not seen that a lot this season.

Does everyone in Somerset have too many fingers to work a basic camera?bringbackthecowshed wrote: 02 Jan 2021, 15:52 Its a remote camera hence the awful coverage, on one occasion the camera followed a ball being kicked out of play down to the corner when the action was up the other end of the pitch! what a couple of tossers these commentators are , COYY

It was coming. Been too content to soak up pressure!
EDIT: FFS!!!
EDIT: FFS!!!
Absolutely atrocious performance, dominated the first 5 minutes then fell to pieces, absolute joke of a performance. Arrogant to think we could hold onto our lucky lead and just sit back, Yeovil were all over us. Poor performances all round, poor game management, poor managerial decisions to keep things the same until it was too late. Teams will be licking their lips at the thought of knocking us off our perch if we succumb to a basic press that easily.

We got exactly what we deserved for only playing positively for about 5 mins each half. At least we had 2 attempts on target second half from 4 overall but again Yeovil had more - 7 - and four on target for their 2 goals. Not sure why Umerah was on the field given he contributed so little. Nemane was the only player to come out with credit - his was a really classy and energetic contribution. Unfortunately that was it - the rest of the midfield was totally outplayed. Really worrying that we couldn't keep the ball sufficiently to hold out - it really looked for the last 20 mins that Yeovil were the top-of-the table team. Hope we can pick up from here - must bounce back quickly.

Not so sure about that - Thought we defended well for most of the game, but a couple of individual errors cost us.
Looked like there was a blatant offside before their first goal - a real galling defeat though. Thought we had it in the bag.

Agree. I thought Covolan was suspect for the first and not sure who it was that let his man have a free header.brucie wrote: 02 Jan 2021, 16:59 Not so sure about that - Thought we defended well for most of the game, but a couple of individual errors cost us.

Certainly well below our best but look who we are missing.
Ben Wynter for a start. Randell is not a full back. He lost control which started the move which led to the equaliser.
Armani Little such a big miss for us.
Umerah won nothing. He is big but so lacking in quality.
Anyway we cannot win them all and I felt Yeovil were in a false position. They have now won 3 out the last 4.
A 10 day break now to prepare for Solihull on 12th Jan at 7pm.

6 points out of 9 over festive period - I'll take that. Thought we played decent for 80 minutes, but was it just me seeing a lot of tired Torquay legs out there in the last 10 minutes. It just looked too easy for Yeovil going forward during that last spell. See other title contenders dropped points today as all teams will do (e.g. Stockport 2-0 up on 70 minutes) - at least we have our points on the board. Time to re-group and go again. This is just a blot on the landscape and I have every confidence we will be back to our winning ways.

A lot of huff and puff, and Yeovil pressed us well. Our two central midfielders had too much to do. Thought ASA Hall had a good match but couldn’t do it all himself. Umerah couldn’t hold the ball up for more than a second, Whitfield & Lemon were not effective, so really we needed to change it up. Covolan should have collected the ball for their first and their second was a header from virtually under the bar. Bit flat and credit to Yeovil.

It was always going to happen, we could not win every game, but today was a game we lost and not due to the quality of the opposition, I understand that Umerah has his critics but when Wright plays he has far more support, today Umerah was a lone attacker at times, Randell so often a quality player had an atrocious game by his own standards, lost count of the balls he gave away trying to play the wrong pass. Nemane the only player to come out of the game with any credit. You do not wait until the 90th minute for subs especially when the opposition is in the ascendency. Poor game, poor tactics, poor performance.
