Woking v Torquay United Tuesday 20 April KO 19.45

Post by portugull »

United travel to the Laithwaite Stadium for a third match between the 2 Clubs in 7 weeks.

Woking will be without Loza and Napa and in their last 3 Home games they have conceded 4 goals on each occasion. Their latest loss was 0-4 to Wrexham on Saturday.

Every one of Uniteds final 9 games are important and 3 points tomorrow will be vital in keeping our great run going.

Ben Whitfield is nearing fitness and if we play like we did at Sutton last week we must be favourites to win tomorrow despite our poor record at Woking.

I am hoping for 2 nil to United. Live Stream is £12 link on the OS. COYY.

Would love us to respond to Hartlepool scoring 7 and Sutton getting 4 at the weekend. Woking seem to have rather given up the ghost of late, and our advantage in goal difference - significant over Christmas - has gone

I am hoping Ben Gerring is keen on signing for a football league team for next season, so will sort out a result for us 😉

At this point I would take a scrappy last minute 1-0. Would love to see some goals but more important to keep our run going .

I see tonight’s game is the start of a run of 5 games in 13 days before we are in front of the cameras for the home game against Bromley.
Hope we can start that win with a comprehensive victory tonight and just as important stay injury free.
Exciting days to come and I can see us top of the league by the time we are on Tele!

Said with irony.... you have to feel sorry for Woking as their injury list now read (from their website):

The Cards injury list grew longer on Saturday, with both Max Kretzschmar and Wimbledon loanee Zach Robinson limping off after picking up knocks against Wrexham. They join Sam Ashford, Josh Casey, Nathan Collier, Ben Dempsey, John Goddard, Matt Jarvis, Jamar Loza and Malachi Napa on the out list.

This should be an opportunity to make our own statement and redress the goals difference against the other two teams at the top!!

SUBS: MacDonald, Warren, Koszela, Waters, Umerah.

No Wright, Cameron and Buse starts!?

Woking are notorious for kicking seven shades out of our squad. With Wright and Cameron recently returning from injury and Little being an obvious target for their “style of play”, I hope it’s a sensible decision from GJ, rather than enforced omissions!

That's how I see it too.
With them having so many out, maybe giving those two a rest is the best option.

Not a strong team tonight, didn't know little was injured , regardless of their reputation we should be playing our strongest eleven,

Resting players, rotation or what. Get with it, this is the best team available tonight. Sadly, it is a step back for returning injured players. The squad will be tested tonight.

what a start!

0-2 up

Boden after a defensive mix up and calm finish and LHE after a terrible back pass

Excellent, always nice to see the opposition self destruct early on in what could otherwise be a tense match
