Saturday!

Post by oliemarles »

Hello!

Plan for Saturday is as follows.

I have, with many other supporters come to the agreement the bottom of the pop side by the away fans is where the best atmosphere can be made, so most of us will be going straight up there! Who is joining?

If that is what peolpe want to do then i will join, however i diss-argee about it creating the best atmosphere,it may lead to banter between us and the away fans, however more than a few chesterfield fans did not get it,as they were confused as to why we were so hostile and wanted Bury to win the league.

I have noticed that when you guys are signing from the half way line the entire ground joins in,from down by the away end the family aand grandstand can not hear and do not join in, i would suggest staying up at the half way line as for our players having three sides signing would be better, however like i said if the majority want to go down to the away end, them i am in.

I agree. The singing section should be in the middle, in the core. Songs can then spread easier and the grandstand and family stand can get the jist and join in more easily.

Saturday is about making an atmosphere to get behind the team, not for 'banter' with the opposition fans. Maybe that was relevant for Chesterfield but Saturday it should be in the middle.

I think for the bigger games at least the core singers should go down by the away end. It's proved to generate a better atmosphere over the last few games, and i'm all for it. Chants create themselves with the away fans where we can be heard and it leads to an all round better atmosphere.

The noise from the family stand in all due respect isn't amazing, so i think we should remain down the end. When we sing 'stand up if you love torquay', STAND UP! :)

But if as Forever said those in the Family Stand or Grandstand can't hear you they won't.
Alternatively why not have groups of four or five singers spaced out along the pop side? Close enough to hear each other and keep in time perhaps five metres or so apart, it might encourage otherwise quieter fans to join in.
I don't know how many singers regularly turn up but the more there are the bigger the groups.
Daft idea really but hey.

I'll stand wherever the most noise will be generated. To be honest, I fully enjoyed standing in the corner next to the away end for the Chesterfield game and will happily do should the singers stay there. However I agree that the chants spread better through the Pop when we're in the middle of the stand.

As long as we can get Plainmoor rocking, not have much of a voice come 8pm Saturday evening and a win then I'll be very happy. :scarf:

I will be down by the away fans, its a shame chants cant pass along the popside at least however.

When walking along the family stand to take my 50/50 ticket sales back during the chesterfield game I could hear Torquay fans loud and clear down the end. They seemed to be much louder than normal and it appeared more were joining in. Also, we sing alot more songs when we're down there.
