Chris Todd. ALL TO READ, PLEASE.

Post by ferrarilover »

Hi all,

Thanks for reading.

Ok, there is a thing on the OS here >>> http://www.torquayunited.com/page/News/ ... 02,00.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It is all about Toddy and a new book he is writing all about his time in football and his battle with leukaemia. As part of the deal, he is inviting companies or individuals to sponsor pages.
Louis has very kindly agreed that http://www.torquayfans.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; will sponsor one page. The page will be used to send a short message to Toddy himself to thank him for his contribution to our club and also congratulate (if that is the right word) him on beating the cancer and going on to do some good work in support of cancer charities.
Each page 'costs' £30.
My proposal is simple; for a minimum donation of £1, you can have your name on the page as a 'signatory' to the message.
Louis has very kindly thrown £10 into the pot to get the kitty started and I am willing to do the same. There is absolutely no pressure for anyone to give more then the £1 minimum and individual donations will not be disclosed to anyone, so if a pound is all you can spare, then a pound it will have to be.

The message, will, of course, be subject to democratic approval among signatories, but the 'draft' I sent to Louis earlier today reads:

"Chris, thanks for all the wonderful memories, [list a couple, Northwich away when he scored on his return, for example] you are a Torquay United hero on and off the pitch and you will never be forgotten. All the best [then the names go here]"

As mentioned, pages cost £30 each and any amount over and above this will be freely sent to Chris as a further donation to his chosen charity.

I really hope we get a good response to this, I know times are hard, but if you can spare the cash, I'd would ask that you do so.

Payments can be made directly to [email protected]. This goes through to Louis and I'm sure we all trust him to handle the money correctly. Would you all please continue to PM me with the name you would like to go on the page EXACTLY as you want it to appear. Also, if you are happy to divulge your donation, I will keep it to myself but it will allow me to keep a running total of how successful this has been.

Matt.
