Of course he didn't want us to lose. But it can barely be denied that the attention on his own future (which he did nothing to dispel before the game) would have affected the mindset of the players.

If we had won the game Buckle would have looked pretty stupid defecting from a promotion winning side. No wonder he was not looking too unhappy. Its a result that suited him and the board.

The board were deeply disappointed at not gaining promotion, they have made comparison's with the Crawley as to the late start and the match officials with the same outcome. Apparently a wage cap is also coming into play this season so I dont know how Crawley will find as their top player is on £3000 a week with our's being only £1200.

Don't be naive. The Board knew full well that promotion would seriously rixk the future of the Club by putting a serious strain on the coffers. Perhapos if the Grandstand deal was taken out of the equation things might be a little different but the Board or at least most of them were seriously worried about achieving promotion. They got what they needed, the money from a failed play-off campaign, make no mistake about that.

I am only stating what came from the horses mouth this morning and he seemed very genuine and passionate about the club, and maybe a rather tad pee'd off.

Do we know how much that was? I know it's a lot less than most of us thought as some is shared between all clubs in the division. Still even if it's 'only' £50k, thats enough for two Zebroskis (not that I expect us to spend a penny on transfer fees this summer).

I have no idea mate, but with a Club the size of ours even half of your estimate is like a good weekends takings I would imagine.
