Very poor performance today. Is memory failing me or are this seasons players worse than our team at this stage last season (?)

Certainly not questioning others comments and views but is interesting that no club has achieved 20 points after 10 games this season, although Truro might reach that. It is equally surprising that we are only 6 points behind the leaders. That said,we need significant improvement in the coming weeks to get consistently good performances and results to keep attendances and enthusiasm up. Subject to injuries it would be good to see a settled team for that period.

That was a shocking performance today. We will be lucky to finish in the top half at this rate.

I dont get the signings of Scarfe or the new lad from Notts county at all.

First choice pairing would be Wannell/Olunfenwa - I can only think Ball has signed the Notts County lad on loan as cover because he doesnt think Scarfe is up to it. We appear to be in a right mess.

Or maybe not.With75 percent of premier league players coming from abroad, 50p/c of championship the same and I’m guessing 25p/c of league 1 and 2, most, if not all, NLS players would be in the old division 3 and 4. Perhaps the good old days weren’t as good as we thought.

What changed was a huge slice of luck. Sutton came calling for our then manager Chris Agutter after they failed to tempt Adam Hinshelwood. They paid a large compensation fee to us, which we used to fund the return of... Adam Hinshelwood

What you'd need to replicate that turnaround would be a National League club to come in for Jimmy Ball

In other news, as you're discussing centrebacks, around the time of Jordan Young's move there was talk of Harry Ransom going the other way. He's very good but wasn't getting game time. However since then injuries and a formation change have meant he's back involved, presumably if there was anything in the story the possibility of that move has passed. Especially as you've signed other players for the position.

I think something people are forgetting is that rather than accept dreyer, young and Morgan were going to leave this summer the club decided to sell all 3 right at the end of the window, then replace them with cheap options. You’re going to finish mid table if your signing players on mid table wages, we’ve got a squad full of loans and I’m seeing people on here compare the Worthing situation last year where they actually backed their manager. Unreal.

I’ll happily admit that I’ll try and blame the ref, the opponents, the pitch, the anything else I can think of before blaming my team but oh dear yesterday…..

The first goal appeared to come from nothing with them walking it in the net, the second well I did disturb a few locals with my choice words about Sundire failing to cut the cross out! He just waived a leg at it! OK the third was a wicked deflection, not much Savin could do with that.

Mr Westernforff, for a great big unit, please try winning a physical battle occasionally! Sorry, he appears to be no where near good enough, I did politely ask him to return to Oxford City!

Having had the beneft of ball's post match and the very creative editing of the in house highlights which still makes us look like crap I hold very little hope for the season. Ball said , first half our midfield was non existent, and that took him 45 minutes to come to this startling revelation, for two or more seasons it has always been our weakest element within the team, yesterday and not for the first time worthington was the worst offender, from a captain at the very least you expect responsibility, a steady influence, he just wanders where he wants and does his own thing totally ignoring team orders, his continuance as captain has passed being a joke, it is now an embarassment.
I understand the clamour for Ball to be sacked, but I do not believe that will hapen, Way was brought in to fill the void of knowledge and expereince in Ball's CV but he cannot claim any footballing success, in his own right, besides the board have invested a lot of their credability in saying that Ball was by far the best candidate for the job, to admit after 15 or so games they made a huge error of judgement is a step too far.
We have sold some of the best players and replaced them with shadows of the former, undoubtedly on far lower wages, which is good for the profit and loss column but terrible for on the onfield success column.
The situation with dennis needs to be resolved this week, we have a top player sat at home reading the sporting life on full wages when we are crying out for some class in the team,it cannot be all about a battle of wills between ball and dennis, that is a side issue, it must be what is best for the team.

Thing is though, it's not all about you is it. Other Gulls might actually be interested in the actual narrative... simply a post responding to a post mentioning Worthing... and in so doing the sharing of information between fans to give you information you might not otherwise have been aware of.

Other Gulls fans might actually be interested to hear their club was trying to sign a good player, they might appreciate knowing the potential route to turning round a 12 point deficit after 10 games.

But no, that won't do will it, there has to be some sort of imagined evil ulterior motive for you doesn't there sausage

I guess my point re. Worthing was we’re not 12pts behind after 10 games, we’re 6pts.
