Any danger of appointing a new manager any day this year?!
Well done the board. Knowing probably weeks and weeks ago that Bucks was on his way and they can't even have a replacement lined up waiting in the wings to come in!! Unbelievable!! Meanwhile other clubs in our league, including Bristol Rovers can crack on and made progress!! Why are they trying to set us back? CAN WE HAVE A NEW MANAGER NOW PLEASE?!!
To be fair I'm quite happy with the situation as it stands.
It sounds like (from SG's posts) that the board have the matter in hand - that says to me that have a fair idea on who they want to take the job. So what if they've postponed any board meeting till next week? I'm assuming that was to give people a chance to apply.
My opinion - based on nothing but speculation - is that once they were aware that Buckle was on the way, they sounded out potential unattached targets. I'm thinking Trollope, Greavsie, Hill, Rioch etc. Judging by some of the comments on here, it would suggest that one or more of the boards preferred targets have indicated any interest.
By opening the application process, they've allowed people they havn't approached to enter the frame. Lets be honest, I doubt our board would have approached Nicky Forster, Kevin Phillips, Didi Hamann (he openly touted for the Swindon job, who says he won't apply for us!). At least this way they will have the full picture of who is interested.
I'd rather the board made a considered appointment at this time, rather than a knee-jerk reaction. It seems that is what they are doing.

Patience andygull,i do get where your coming from, however the board could not have acted any other way here, unless they had sacked Buckle before or during the play-offs,which if the board had acted that way they would have roundly slammed for that, therefore untill after the game Saturday the managers job was not publicly availble.
It is totaly right for the board to invite applications and wait for a number of days to see what comes in,in terms of applications, had the board alreay appointed someone it would have been a very limited field indeed, the board admitted they are under pressure to do something quickly, and i should imagine by early next week the club will have someone in place.
on this subject i think the board are acting properly and correctly.

All very nice but there's absolutely no evidence to suggest this and I feel Andy makes a fair constructive critism point.
One would hope things are as you and others have suggested, but you would have thought due to the way other events ie. PO final tickets, have been so poorly handled recently at a time where supporters are deciding if they should buy a season ticket or not that some comment could have been made sooner.
If a target had have been sounded out and approached with a positive out come then they could have said something along the lines of what Rovers did. ie "we exect an appointment to be made early next week/ next fortnight" or the like to allay their supporters/customers concerns.
Like I have said in previous posts I have nothing but respect for the current regime but when the only hint that we have that they are being proactive is the "winkers" being out in force then I'm afraid I'm unconvinced.

and judging by certain players twitter posts, i'm sure they feel even more anxious than us.Dave_Pougher wrote:
