Banner for the new Grandstand idea!?

Post by Colorado Gull »

I sent an email to the club about this idea but I have had no reply, so I thought I should put the idea on here to see what other Torquay fans think about it.

At Villa Park (Aston Villa's Stadium) on the North Stand they have a banner saying: "Shaw, Williams, prepared to adventure down the left. There's a good ball in for Tony Morley. Oh, it must be! It is! Peter Withe!" That was Brian Moore commentating as Aston Villa score the goal that won them the European Cup in May 1982. Image
I thought we should have one of our own on the new Grandstand?! Something like: "Carlisle checks instead he's looking for Benyon...SILLS! Torquay United are close to the promised land!" - Which was said by Steve Bower when we beat Cambridge at Wembley.

I think that would bring a smile to everyones faces when they see that saying.

So what d'ya think? Is this possible? Or is this idea never going to work?

Good idea actually, wouldn't mind seeing that opposite from the pop.

Great idea. Providing they do it to look smart and nothing like the advertising on the grandstand roof at the moment, it will look good.
