Bevan's BBC Interview
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13703945.stm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Some interesting points:
1. Torquay DID offer Bevan something.
2. Lost count how many times he used the word 'ambition'.
3. "Torquay is a very good family-based club...but the expectation [at Bristol Rovers] is bigger. Good to be playing infront of 5-6000".
4. Didn't rule out more Torquay boys going to Bristol...highlighted the fact we have a few out-of-contract.
5. Will be disappointed if they don't get promoted.
Fair do's to him. Wish him the best of luck...

It's good to see Torquay posting a story on this for the fans.
Shame about the content of the story though!!! Need to work on communication between the board and the players now....

Got nothing against Bevan,or his move to Bristol Rovers i hope it all works out well for him apart from when he is playing against us,when i hope he has the touch of Alan Julien.
I am looking soley at the club in this whole affair,i believe they had the feeling for some time Buckle was not going to be around next season,the club in my opinion could and should have done more to protect itself,the board would have known Bevan ,Branston etc were out of contract,if Buckle was not going offer them new deals , the club surely could have taken the decision out of Buckle's hands and offered contracts.
Not in any way i might add to force these players to stay, but it surely now have given the club some time and some barganing power over these players, instead Bevan has walked,argeed we can do better, and acording to the O/S our club still do not seem to know, and branston can do the same if he wants to,if i am barking up the wrong tree with this please feel free to tell me.

I have nothing but utmost respect for Scott...knew him well...what a great guy...thought he was one of the best goalies we have had here for some time and he loved it here and if he was not offered such an insulting offer to stay and only a 1 year appearance contract would still be here...
Good Luck Scott...i dont blame you for securing a 2 year sensible deal and wish all the best...
ps. do me a favour and let in lots of goals just at plainmoor....i did tell him that and he chuckled =D

Hi Cambgull! One of my fondest Torquay memories of the last few years was Torquay at Cambridge (September, 2008). Cambridge fans were giving us a bit of hard time then Carlisle scored in injury time - brilliant! Beating them 2-0 at Wembley was pretty good too...

Note that story hasn't changed.
So despite him signing for Rovers
having his picture taken with their scarf
doing an interview for the BBC at their ground.
DO Torquay need more confirmation before releasing any thing via the 'proper channels to it's supporters'?

Pretty sure there's going to be quite a few things next season that he should be handling better!PhilGull wrote:Could have handled it better according to the OS http://www.torquayunited.com/page/News/ ... 63,00.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Let's tell our boys to really load some crosses on top of him.

I like his wording, an extra £20 a week is I guess "slightly improved".

I heard it was £25 a week, Dave, but we wont split hairs. £20 a week = £960 per annum £25 a week = £1250 per annum. I work for the NHS at South Devon Healthcare. My salary increase for the year (April) ...£250!!Southampton Gull wrote:I like his wording, an extra £20 a week is I guess "slightly improved".
