Eunan O'Kane is rumoured to be a target for.......

Post by nicktufc »

Nope, not our favourite parent club just up the M5, but for newly promoted, premier league side Queens Park Rangers.

Queens Park Rangers have bid given nearly £40 million to spend this summer but Neil Warnock has been warned he won't be given much in January:
-The first signings will be youngster Callum Davies from Gillingham. Warnock has said he is one for the future and will be going out on loan this current season. Other youngster who who could be joining are Eunan O'Kane from Torquay United, Quinton Griffith from Antigua and Tom Parkes from Leicester. Warnock is wanting youngster so he can choose from a decent reserve squad if needed as he wants quality not quantity in his first team.
-Geoffrey Doumeng, experienced Lens mifielder, will be joining the London club after being relegated from the French top flight.
-Bjorn Helge Riise is expected for talks from Fulham after being rather impressive in his loan spell at Sheffield United. Warnock sent a scout to watch him against Barnsley on Sheffield United's last home game and was impressed.
-Russell Martin will be having talks with Neil Warnock later this week in a proposed move from Norwich City.
-Johnnie Jackson is causing interest from a lot of Championship and League 1 sides but will jump at the chance of Premier League football.
-Emre Colak will have talks with QPR over the next week from Galatasary. He is a Turkey under 21 international and a defensive midfielder.

If he is going then I hope, for him and us, it is to QPR.

Hope we a prepared with potential replacements if he is off! (I expect not though!)

on eunan's twitter the other day he said something like "unless Mr Ling doesn't want me, i'll be in yellow next season", but i guess that was before being linked with a premiership side. where did that QPR statement come from anyway ??

In some ways, I hope he does go. Don't get me wrong, I'd want to keep him for the rest of his career but we all know that isn't likely.

If he does leave, QPR are the ideal club for him. A style of football which suits him down to the ground, we'd get very good money for him and Warnock would be an ideal manager to bring him through. It would be his best chance of playing at least regular Championship football.

Agree with this post - I don't think any of us are really churlish enough to prefer players to see their abilities stay in the lower leagues. O'Kane is clearly a player with higher talents than League 2, and going to a club like QPR would be a good move for him.

If we could get a hefty fee that'd help too :)

I doubt he'd go into their first team squad, especially with them battling against relegation. Surely he'd rejoin us back on loan?

That's I think what West Brom did to Rochdale when they signed their young centre half Dawson. Very similar situation.

I wouldn't say that Warnock's brand of kick&rush would suit him down to the ground...

From when i've seen them this season, they've played nice, on the deck passing football.

What QPR team have you been watching? They've been playing fast, on the floor, attacking football. Look at someone like Faurlin, not particularly fast but a very good passer of the ball and lays it off to players like Taarabt who go on their mazy dribbles.
