He had a massive budget for the BSP in fairness.

He is very lucky in the fact we never had any key long term injuries.

The truth is (in the season which we did get promoted back to the league) we were dire at best for many games in that year. Luckily the standard around us was poor so this did not cost us.

That said - he did win us back our league status so should get credit for that.

Good honest response mate.

I don't know much about the guy but he comes across well in the media and his signings have been fairly decent so far, but not earth shattering. I think if he pulls off the Cureton deal he'll win over any doubting fans we have. Our midfield looks good currently, the rest we will have to wait and see

How come he never ever sorted a right back for you guys, heard he played a midfielder?? He's just signed a 22 Y.O guy from N.Ireland who is highly rated within weeks

great question. if you ever find out the answer, please let us know !!

you're right, he either played a central midfielder, or centre back at RB, and while both coped, it not only was far from ideal, but we didn't get the best out of those players of course. hopefully that's something our new manager will be addressing ASAP.

He did bring Danny Senda in but never really gave him a go and he soon left. Seems he played out of his skin for you guys but clearly Buckle did not rate him.

I think at the moment he has got all positions covered to the bare minimum, just need a bit of cover for GK, CB, Winger and CF.

Don't think he'll have a problem like that here unless we get injuries, still poor not to have a recognised RB in your squad though.

Which wing does Carayol play on if you dont mind me asking??

Both but I think he is right footed. Buckle played him a lot on the left though (he like doing things like that!).

If you get him playing then he is unplayable at this level but if you can't then he is just a bench warmer. That said - I was gutted when he left and would welcome him back with open arms, as when he is at it, he is brilliant to watch.

I think most of our fans were disappointed we didnt sign Senda permenantly, he sorted out his fitness just before he came to us and looked above average for league one. Probably wages, dropping down a league or Buckle stopped him signing for us.

Hmm, sounds promising but if Buckle couldnt get him ticking at Torquay im not sure why he thinks he can here. Carayols still young, maybe he's had a kick up the ass after suffering relegation from the basement. He's already told the press here that he takes on everything and nothing short of promotion will be seen as good enough.

Never really sure on the reason why he didn't get us a RB, perhaps because he couldn't attract one better than Manse/Robbo or because he spent all the money on 4 strikers who he played out of position. Not sure, all I know is that he does seem to like combative midfields which is certainly not a bad thing.

Carayol is a right footed left winger, cuts inside quite a bit but won't be putting in many crosses.
Luke.
