All the more reason for many of you not to get so wound up by rival fans comments then??

do you have many groundhogs in bristol ??
Well the "other cr*p" as you put it was only due to the comments back I got, nobody else was questioned in their predictions.
If nobody replied id have left it at that. Simples

oh beam me up. maybe that's because this thread was on our main board, for tufc fans, until you came along and stuck your oar in. now it's on the banter board, and the original topic has been completely lost. i'll not be replying on this thread any more, i'm bored now, but i will start up the original thread back on the main board, so those genuinely interested in "League 2 Predictions" can continue to post them.
MODERATOR EDIT : For anyone who is interested - the original predictions post is back on the Main Board, where it was created, for the purpose it was created.

I think 1979 ,you are strugglerling to seperate opinion/prediction etc from "fact" something that brady (regiment) is desperately trying to point out to you.
Last season various paper's and sky predicted Bradford as the sure fire bet to go up,and Torquay to go down, look what happened, some fan's forum's had us to go down aswell,us Tufc fan's predicted top half maybe play-off's,the difference being we were not guessing.
I am quite happy for anyone to predict us to go down, those who have are doing it on the strenght that Buckle and a fair few player's have gone,it's fine, but at the end of the day it's not fact, just because you think we will finish 20th does not mean we will.
You and reading your main forum suggest's to me that a lot of Rover's are just laughing there head's off at any Torquay fan who is otimistic about our chances for next season, the thing is when Buckle left and Lingy was appointed many Tufc fan's were concerned about what direction our club/team was going in,however Lingy has put together a squad more than capble of holding it's own in this league, and us Tufc fan's know it,everyone else will soon realise it,there is a good feeling spreading around TQ1 right now with good reason.

Hmm, how do you know??
I've seen some utter sh*te players play blinders in pre season friendlies and reserve games.......it means nothing.
I have done a prediction table for an online competition. I based my placings at studying the comings and goings at verious clubs, with TUFC I have seen a few of the signings play before and read up on the others. Most seem to be lost journeymen with more clubs that NIck Faldo, never having achieved much.
Its obviously not an exact science but I just don't rate your signings or manager, thats just my opinion. I never said I was dealing in facts, unless you have a time machine nobody can regarding the future.
I think the bitterness stems from when Buckle joined and most of your fans were putting us down saying it was a "sideways" move and they we weren't a very big club. We are not massive but a lot bigger than TUFC, but do have massive potential when the new stadium is up and running.
Man you need to chill out and stop going on and on and on and on about the same points. They've had a very good pre-season, as have we so have the same right to be optimistic about the upcoming season. Let's just see how we both get on and try not to keep ramming our opinions down their throats. We wouldn't like it if opposition fans came on our forum saying how crap we'll do so let's show some respect. They have been very patient taking all the crap from our lot this summer.Gashead1979 wrote:

WHEN the new stadium is up and running! WHEN! Surely, IF!!! The cost is massive, relying on support of a University when the University sector is about to have a very, very difficult few years. Please stop this we are bigger than you bo***cks, we have been in the same League as Rovers for a lot of years in my memory. Silly nonsense.

Things are looking good on that front, but we know only too well things can go tits up, but if/when built hopefully we will fulfill our undoubted potential.

1979 maybe it might be a good idea to listen to your fellow gashead on this one. This forum is very welcoming to opposition fans and overall I think we've been pretty tolerant considering. If you can't take on board what the mods tell you maybe you should go elsewhere?

Well I feel I get victimised a lot on here when I post, nobody else was asked to elaborate on their predictions on this thread, otherwise I wouldnt have.
Also I see the Ling thread on the Main Board which is tit-for-tat over whether Ling is a good manager or not. Banter board material if ever I saw it.......
Also there are many sly digs at BRFC's current manager and players still littered in threads and unprovoked, yet im in the wrong for criticising TUFC??

OK, i said i wasn't going to post on here again, but in an attempt to put things to bed and move on, i'll just try once more.
the first post you put on here was :-
as for your concern about our ex-manager and ex-players getting mentions, well, it's just that. they're former TUFC employees, which i think we're within our rights to discuss on the TUFC forum. if people start coming onto the BRFC forum and slag off your manager and players, you would then have a right to complain.
i hope this goes some way to closing this particular episode, and please feel free to continue posting here. all we ask is that ALL members respect the rules, and the other members on here. thanks.
the first post you put on here was :-
some have clearly seen that as a "dig" and not just your opinion. whether you meant it as a dig or not, it was out of context with previous prediction posts by other members, so created a reaction. you straight away followed up with :-Gashead1979 wrote:I admire your optimism folks,
I've entered my final league table on various forums and have you finishing 20th.
You have lost your better players and replaced them with worse players....I can honestly only see that having one result.
again, no one had asked you to explain your reasons, you did that yourself, and also bear in mind your comments were originally on our main board, not the banter board, so you can surely see why people then had a pop back at you.Gashead1979 wrote:Honest assessment, if you'd replaced the players you lost with better or the same then surely you'd be expecting to be on par with the gas?? Plus Ling is your boss....
ok, in an attempt to move on, i'm sorry you feel you've been victimised, you haven't, and overall, i think the members and staff on here have been incredibly patient, and without wanting to sound all "headteacher-ish", you've spoilt your good contributions with silly petty comments at times, which i'd assume is why some members on here have not got patience for you now. i'm not patronising you, that's just how i see it. i, myself, have had some banter with you, and exchanged sensible discussion, but some of your posts have been un-necessary and repetitive. you're welcome on here, please continue to contribute, but respect the fact that it is a TUFC forum, and as such, any digs at our club are sure to get a reaction. I can see your point about the Ling topic, but at least the banter is being kept topical and relevant, the majority of which is opinion based on first hand experience.Gashead1979 wrote: Well I feel I get victimised a lot on here when I post, nobody else was asked to elaborate on their predictions on this thread, otherwise I wouldnt have.

Absolute rubbish. Your continued "banter" on our Main Board is why you draw attention to yourself. As many others have said previously, we've been more than patient and to be perfectly honest with you it's got to the stage where you're opinions are generally accepted as nothing more than a pi**take. If that's how you want to act then the Banter Board is more than welcoming for that kind of input. You've not been singled out at all. One of your fellow fans was banned for refusing to comply with our request to stay off our Main Board and you're very close to going the same way. Constant whining and cries of being victimised are falling on deaf ears. If you want to remain here I suggest you stop complaining, accept the reasons given (plenty of times) as I'm bored of reading about your opinions of how we run our forum. Take a look at other Rovers fans still posting, I even voted for one of them as Member of the Month, you could learn more than a little from them.
There won't be any more reasoning with you, the next step is pretty much up to you, complaints should be sent to any member of the Admin Team, not clogging up our Boards.
