With a new manager coming in it's allways a chance of a fresh start for all players, Billy kee was not first pick under Buckle and would have seen this as his chance to be no1 in the pcking order with Lingy coming in, he was first pick for game one, and to me did not do enough to hold his place.
You have to earn your right to play, when Atieno came on against Burton the team had a different dimension up front, and the pair caused Rovers nightmares all game long, Billy Kee will probaly have to wait for another chance , and needs to take it, by creating chances and bagging some goals.
I do not know what reason there would be for Billy Kee to be unhappy, what i have written above maybe one reason why he might be frustrated, as said though it's down to him, he has got to prove his worth.

To be fair to the lad, the front two didnt exactly get much in the way of service for the first hour. With Stevens moving to the left and Macklin on the right we looked a lot more balanced and threatening than we did with Morris on the left and Stevens on the right. How much of that is down to Atieno replacing Kee, compared to the midfield switch, is open to debate.

Young, excited footballer who is not in the starting XI is unhappy

Not much in the way of a scoop, of course he is unhappy, he isn't in the first team and he feels he should be. Getting a hat-trick for your country then losing your place is going to upset anyone, but sadly, there are only 11 starting places on a Saturday and 5 more on the bench. He'll get his chance, will our Billy The Kid, just as Mark Ellis and Lloyd Macklin, he just needs to bide his time. If clubs could run on squads of 16, so everyone was at least in the match day squad, then happy days, but they can't, so some days, players are going to be disappointed. Such is a footballers lot. On the flip side, they are handsomely rewarded for playing a children's game for a living, swings and roundabouts.

unfortunately, until billy gets himself fit, he's gonna have to warm the bench. i can't understand footballers who don't get themselves in shape. all they do is play football all day, eat and drink the right things, and stay in shape. i know he will never be slim, but rooney ain't exactly skinny and he's certainly not short of pace, work rate, etc. Howe isn't the fittest looking player in the world either, but he's still effective. Billy needs to find his own solution, as he is undoubtably talented, but a hatrick against a bunch of teenage sheep herders and paperboys doesn't mean he's going to cut it in division 2. it's a long season, with lots of games to play, especially when the cups kick in as well, so he'll get his chance. up to him if he takes it.

If it is the case that Billy Kee is a tad homesick as Lovinthatsurf suggest's then the club needs to do all it can to help the lad with that i am sure they will.
If it is more down to frustration then i agree with the sentiment above, think Brady regiment has called it spot on, dont get me wrong i really want Billy Kee to be a sucsess with us, and i am always proud to join in the white pele song, however there needs to be some honesty aswell, from the manager fans and more importantly from the player.
As we all know forward play is not just about scoring goals, when your team is under pressure and the forwards not receiving the service they need as Father Jack points out, thats when you need a forward to hold the ball up, chase lost causes, shut things down up top to try and prevent the other team playing the ball out from the back, drop a bit deeper and get afoot in, anyhting to try and help regain the momentum for your team, and to be fair we have not seen any of that from Billy Kee, perhaps he needs to add some of that to his game, or impove his general fitnesss.

If he needs more exercise and first-team runouts, perhaps he could go out on loan to Plymouth Argyle?
With a recall option, and a ban on him playing cup-ties for them, playing against the Gulls, etc..

Don't forget Oggy Oggy too. With more Subways in the Plymouth City Centre than there are shops, he'd be feasting all day.usagullmichigan wrote: How crazy. Ginsters? Ivor Dewdny?

There are far more pasty shops in Plymouth than here. Running from one to another should keep his weight down. Possibly.cambgull wrote: Don't forget Oggy Oggy too. With more Subways in the Plymouth City Centre than there are shops, he'd be feasting all day.

He needs to come over here and get some American burgers, buffalo wings in him and some good ole American thick steak. Stand on your steak here you can normally re-tile your roof they're so think. That should keep pot Billy pig going.
If people were saying some of these things about me and I got wind of it I'd be pretty damn upset, being on the large side myself.
