Selling matchday or e-programmes online

Post by stratfordgull »

Just had an email from Coventry City, my local club advising me that I can now buy\subscribe to an e-version of their matchday programme. Made me wonder whether (a) this was viable for us although I would think probably not, or (b) whether distant fans like myself can buy the paper matchday programme? Strikes me that it doesn't involve any extra expense for the club other than stuffing the 10 or so that might be sold into an envelope and putting them in the post......

It isn't likely to generate a vast amount of profit, but given the number of people on here from further afield that want to put a bit of money into the club, it sounds like a bit of a freebie unless I've missed something. Don't think it would need an increase in print run unless I underestimate the demand, but if I do, then so much the better.

Oh, and, if they already do this but I have missed the link, then maybe the link needs to be more visible? Or I might just have been plain stupid and missed it

Stratty, there is the option to subscribe to TQ1. It represents a small saving on the cover price, but does mean that you need to pay for the full season's worth up front.
When the phones are back up and running, give the club a ring and ask about this.

Matt.

If they stop printing football programmes there is no way on this earth that i will buy a bloody e-programme! Yes we must embrace technology but the matchday programme is part of the matchday experience. I always buy one and put it in the car for later on saturday night when i can read it at leisure. ( Putting it in the car also stops it from getting wet or being bent). Sorry but this is one area that technology should just go and f**k itself.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

I am not against an e-programme, i can see great benefits despite my post earlier to the contrary; however, it must NEVER replace the traditional format.

yeah, for those of us who can't get an hard copy, an e-programme would be just fine.

Thats what i was getting at Happy , i didn't explain myself very well. For exiled Gulls it would be a really good idea to download a matchday programme. I personally wouldn't do it even though i don't live in Devon but many people would. I just think that it would work out so cost effective if they tried it and the hard copy as it were would be phased out and i don't want that to happen.

An online match program would be great seeing that I only can attend one or two games each season.
