Billy Bodin

Post by DerbyGull »

I've just seen we have signed him on loan http://www.torquayunited.com/page/News/ ... 49,00.html

Have to admit thought it would be a good idea when i saw he was up for loan but thought we weren't doing any more business!!!

Going to be tough for Billy Kee as he seems to be number 3 striker for Ling at the moment.

Excellent news. Excited by this one. Watching the game on Saturday, I thought we were crying out for a quick and nippy striker, and Lingy has produced!

Signed Bodin on FM2011 and he always bangs them in - let's hope he's like that in real life.

I agree we need pace - how do you know he is quick and nippy?

After a quick google, I found several mentions of him on Swindon forums, where he's described as pacey, and I coupled that with what I know of him from Football Manager (despite what some say, it is extremely well researched), but I could be completely wrong!

Football manager is very well researched and they have their own scouts out making sure they get things spot on.
He does offer us some pace which we could so with in out side. Get some pace working with Howe could work a treat.

Firstly big up to CP gull who said from the moment Lingy was appointed Billy Bodin would end up with us, took a while but he is here now.

I wonder whether he is here with a view to signing permanently, Bodin played 75 minutes of there opening game, he played the full 90 in game 2 and 3, and yet for last weekends match home to Oxford it appears he was out of there squad alltogether, possible fall out up there ?

What's all this about pace? Atieno has bags of it.

Similar vein to others really, i saw on Sky sports the other day Swindon were letting him out on loan and I thought then, he'd do for us. Very pleased and lets see how he goes.

I believe Bodin can play as a wide player aswell, maybe he will play ahead of Morris, with Atieno and Howe remaining up top.

Well Swindon have signed a fair few strikers this season and Mr Di Canio will want to play his fellow Italians.
CP did indeed say we would sign him back a long and well done for getting it right.

I wouldnt mind if it was with a view to be signed permanently but i cant see it as like Benyon they could get a nice fee out of them.

I agree with you Nick that Atieno has lots of pace, but its nice to have someone else who has than can offer something different.

I would agree he has pace, and, going only on my one viewing of him so far, would say he is an extremely good link-up man.

Bodin, however, strikes me as more of a goal-poacher a la Benyon. Hopefully he's a player that will sit on the last man and terrorise opposition defences. Again, something I think we were severely lacking on Saturday.

For me, Howe, Kee and Atieno can be, at times, too similar to play alongside each other. What's good about Bodin is he'll add a different dimension to the team.

This was mentioned back in the summer, wasn't it?

When I saw he was up for availability, I wondered whether we'd be in for him. I too have signed him on FM2011 for us and he did a great job, so its nailed on he'll be dire then!

In all seriousness, seeing as he can play wide I wonder whether we'll see him play on the right, which has been something of a problem position for us so far.

A decent signing though, was in Swindons first team this season before di Canio continued to fill it with foreigners so he must be half decent. Looking forward to seeing him play on Sat!
