Seriously? Rumour or fact?

If fact, a bit surprising but I hope we got some dollar for him.

O.k, so if this true I'm a sort of on the fence whether I'm happy or not.

On the one hand, there was clearly a player in there. Strong, reasonably quick and a fantastic finisher. The guy just didn't do tap ins - goals at Burton, Morecambe, Northampton, Barnet last season were all classy finishes. He's got that sort of aura about him that although it never clicked for us, you could see him being on fire if we ever sold him. He was awesome for Accrington against us at their place 2 years ago, and I could see it happen again if someone can get the best out of him.

But on the other hand, the guy was given so many chances to impress but very rarely did. His half-arsed running about against Rovers was quite frankly embarrassing. When I say the guy didn't do tap-ins, he did tend to miss some of the easier chances, and all too often he seemed to make bizarre runs and be on a totally different wavelength to everyone else. Its all very well there being a player in there, but it seems that first Buckle and now Ling fail to get it out of him.

So in a nutshell, I've got no axe to grind with him and he'll go with even fonder regards if he carries on recent form. But if the player that is dying to come out finally does at Burton, I'll hate him.

I'm really sorry to see him go. Think he has massive potential. Burton have got themselves a good player.

Oh, great.

Still, at least he'll only have one game against in us which to score the oh-so-inevitable hat-trick.

If this is true then it seems a really strange move for you. What i saw on player of him last season he was a good player and you have got a totally unproven player in return and only on loan. Seems to me likely that he has fallen out with your Manager. We have seen plenty of that in the past. Trouble is that it doesnt matter if you are in the Premiership or League 2 it is very difficult to kep players happy once the Manager has shown a preference in his line up. it is slightly easier in the top leagues because the players are getting paid so much more but in my mind if I were a player I would prefer to be playing regularly for a slightly lower team than sitting on the bench every week. I really feel that Michael owen has wasted his latter career away being on Uniteds bench.
