I was not expecting this at all, to be honest though i am not as disappointed as i thought i'd be. Lets just hope this Billy Bodin can do the business for us.

Just looked at Burton's website and noticed their club badge.

It's Billy's profile! :~D

Unfortunately, looks like this move was meant to be!! :~D

Still, I do think he has great potential that will out at some point. Shame it wasn't with us. Hey-ho.

If he can't oust a continually under-performing Danny Stevens, he's maybe not a good as some suggest? As for Macklin, i've never been his biggest fan, but his performance against Exeter in pre-season was fantastic, and i'm stunned he hasn't featured more. Stevens and Mcphee are evidently the chosen ones and neither are the answer for me. As for Bodin, if he's also been brought in to contest the wide positions, are we seriously going to proceed with 2 strikers?
No i think Bodin is more like Tomlin, in terms of he's a striker that could play wide if needed but is predominantly a forward.

Be interested to see this lad play, Since Ling has come in (this may be coincidence and by being forced) but the 'non footballers' are being replaced one by one. The ones that rely mainly on 'work rate' are being replaced by more footballing options.

Like every one else i do not have an axe to grind with Billy Kee, i wish him every sucsess with his new club, i do not see this as a great loss though.

It remains to be seen whether so many poor performances were down to the lad being homesick and generaly unhappy, i saw a player who all to often ran down a blind ally, went to ground far to easy, i never had confidence in him to slip his marker, or score should the ball drop to him around the box.

Does he have potential ? Not sure myself, maybe a fresh start really is all he needs, i think he will need a fair bit of coaching, and to be polite lifestyle included.

One thing i do know, atleast he is the first player to play the homesick card who has actually gone home :) , muzzy buy a sat nav if you dont know where London is :slap:

So he couldn’t shed weight because of the comfort food that he consumed whilst pining for the East Midlands. And he is Irish.

Yes it all makes sense now...

Right, in that case I can't shed weight because of the comfort food I eat because I'd quite like to leave the West Midlands. And I'm part Irish.

Excuse sorted. :-D

In all seriousness though I do believe he was homesick since as others have said he has gone home. I can't begrudge him that and I'd like to see the Billy I think he can be, even if he isn't wearing TUFC yellow.

He is a really really limited footballer, who is fairly slow, doesn't run the channels, is very unfit, is poor in the air, can't score 1-on-1s, and is way way too weak for a lad of his size. The only reason I liked him at all, was because he has the ability to strike a football very cleanly. We have lacked strikers who can strike the ball from range as well as Billy does for a long time, and I always hoped the other areas of his game would improve to compliment this.

I wish Billy all the best and i'm sure he does miss his mates which is totally understandable. I can't see him doing much in his career above league 2 level so i'm not sad to see him leave. HIs performance at Old Trafford was so so poor and the fact he is still as unfit and weak as the day he arrived means he isn't a player I would personally like at the club. Needs to get his head right and start focusing on getting his career on track.
I dont like to say this but i agree with you. I liked the guy and respected him for being a member of the club we all love, but seriously he didnt do that much. He does have potential but this is a big word as many players fail to meet it.

Agreed again, and I agree with forevers comments re. homesick, can't help feeling it's an excuse. I pleased with ML handeling of this situation, he's palyed another blinder as far as I'm concerned. Don't want to be here,,, ta ta.

That sounds disespectful to BK but it's not meant to be. I really wish him the best, but his appearences or lack of have been down to nobody else other than him. Bodins comming with a point to prove to Paolo de nazi and I'm more than happy with that.

Thats got to be the first post that accuses Billy of being a "work rate" player. Everyone else seems to hold the opposite view ;-)

Now the real season is under way after the positive performances of the PSF's, I dont have the warm feeling I did have about the replacements that have come in. Theres some in the plus column and some in the minus. Be interesting to see how we progress over the next 6 or so games...

Oh, I liked Billy. I like players who aren't scared to run at defenders (no defamatory remarks here please Bix and Super) and Billy seemed to be a solid Div 2 type. Hey ho, wish him well for the future, reckon he will go on to do well somewhere, even if he didn't get me my Manolos last season..

What's your issue with Di Canio, Dave?

Matt, he's probably referring to his fascist salute whilst playing for Lazio (I think) when playing back in Italy.
