If I was Ling I'd play:
-----------------Olejnik---------------------
--Oastler-----Ellis-----Robbo---Nicholson
--Macklin----Eunan----Manse---- Morris
-------------Mcphee----Atieno------------
Subs: Rice, LRT, Saah, Stevens, Lathrope

I'm not sure with your choice of the backline, but agree with the midfield and your first post of playing 4-5-1.
I would like to see either McPhee or O'Kane given the "hole" role.

In reply to the original thread title: "Anyone bothering going to Cheltenham ?"
My answer is : "Not now that is for sure."
Can we have a TUFC v Macclesfield matchday thread now please ?

I almost entirely agree - just can't see Saah getting dropped. To carry on a theme, I've got nothing against Saah either but aside from the Rovers game and the second half against Aldershot I've been thoroughly unimpressed. His downfall seems to be a basic lack of concentration. As I said in my match report, if you watch him you can actually see the moment that he realises the ball is coming his way, when he should have realised it way earlier.dannyrvtufc4life wrote:If I was Ling I'd play:

Given that its almost certain that Saah will start, I'd prefer us to play the back 4 we played on Saturday. Yes they were shocking for 45mins but they were set up to play against a direct side, which I believe Macclesfield to be.
Up front I''d like to see McPhee play just in behind Atieno, as I believe thats the role he had success in last season. I'd also like to see Spear on the bench - why not just have him there, just in case.

Emile Sinclair versus Brian Saah? Sleep well Brian.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
I too would like to see "Minty" make his first appearance.
Who is "Minty" ?
Spear ? Mint ? "Minty" ?
I'll get me coat and make my way back to the naughty step . . . . . .

Bollocks, I forgot Billy was unavailable, DAMMIT. Oh well, brilliant time for Rene Rene to get crocked in the paintpot.

Which one is Ray Spear? I always get the youth teamers confused.

Cheers Scotty. He was the one I thought he was, but couldn't be sure.
He has always looked a danger in the reserve/youth games I have seen. (Which presumably means he looked rubbish in the highlights...
