Anyone know the story to Akinfenwa leaving the Gills and going back to the world class AC Northampton? ??

I remember reading that he didn't want to leave Northampton to join Gills in the first place :)

Always going to be a threat at this level. Have to admit I'm concerned about how our defence (which can be vunerable at times) is going to deal with his "presence". Going to be a good test for Saah and the rest of the defence.

Bayo scored a quality goal at the weekend - let's just say he got his weight behind it!

I too am worried about how we'll cope with him this weekend. In Branston he seemed to have found his nemesis, you can just see Robbo getting pulled up for grappling with him on Saturday.

I saw the goal on Saturday, it was a bit of a smash.

Annoyingly it does mean we are going to get the "Akinfattw@t" chants on saturday doesn't it.....................

Branston has handled him well recently. I job for Robbo or Ellis to hopefully take over.

Not the only ex-gulls player now at san sixfields along with robbo, Nick Mckoy anyone remember him ? Came on loan to us from Cardiff in our fateful 2007 season, went on to play for some real football powerhouse's, like Potters bar town, Grays, Enfield, St Jonhstone, sutton and kettering before getting his dream move to Northampton.

The only shame is he got sent off saturday and will not be playing against us.

Be an interesting 50/50 challenge between Bayo and Rene Howe. Two biggest players in the league.

only because I was surprised to see Akk back at Northampton. I had no idea he'd left the Gills. Makes for a fun day on Saturday, though! See you there at the San Sixfields Field of (broken) dreams!
