...I think Akinfenwa's alright, y'know. Don't get me wrong, I know he's been a bit of a football 'whore', I appreciate he's a little on the chunky side and I quite enjoy the stick he gets. But fair play to him today. I thought he took the predictable piss-taking pretty well and joined the banter sportingly on a couple occasions. I think he does a decent job too - they certainly wouldn't have much without him - It's fairly obvious that he's the main focus of their tactics. I'm not sure I'd swap him for Howe but I'd certainly think about it for a while!

Yeah, he was good humoured and acknowledged us having a go. Had a bit of a joke with Lee Mansell as well which was nice to see. The Cobblers do pump it up to him a lot and he will get them goals but the Gulls defence marshalled him pretty well yesterday. Not quite in a Guy Branston way, i.e. put him out of the game but well enough. At least clubs know that he will always be asking for more money and move to who pays the most as that's his way. Still has the presence of a fridge freezer but moves slower. Is it me or is he even bigger than he was before??? "Does MacDonalds know you're here?" classic.

Really.....???? He was slow, when ever he did put up a bit of a jog he was always 2nd to get to the ball, he missed at least 1 open net and 2 sitters in front of goal. For someone who is meant to be a "sit on the goal line striker" he was useless. I have never seen him have a good game against us.

I found him incredibly frustrating when he was with us. Don't get me wrong, he was good and I'm sure we can all agree he did his part in trying to keep us up in our League 1 season. What was most frustrating was that he would stand in line with the middle of the box/centre circle, so our other striker (Constantine?) would have to play out wide.

Essentially, he got the goals but hindered anyone else scoring. The big, fat bloater!

Having seen both in action I would predict Akinfenwa will score more goals than Howe but I would be inclined to keep Howe if I were you as he will do a better job of leading your line and will create more for others.

Akinfenwa was immense for us in our Lge 1 season.

For this level he is definitely as asset......no doubt.

Bayo played for Lituanian side Fk Atlantas from 2001-2003 scoring 33 goals in 41 games, however 2003-2004 season Bayo's professional career nosedived , he joined Barry town but was released due to money problems, he then joined Boston stayed for less than a month before joining Orient only to be released after a month, Rushen/diamonds played no games ending up at Doncaster.

I fully understand that young player's have ambition's to play for the biggest clubs at the highest level, however i firmly believe that in the 2004-2005 season Torquay offered Bayo the very last chance saloon to save his professional career, i am not bothered whether i am wrong in that, that is what i believe.

Did he owe something, yes a second season , he would have done well and his big move would still have come his way, still nothing ever gained by crying over split milk.

Would i like to see Bayo back here with us, no,Bayo is 29 now and way over wieght, Rene Howe is more moblie as a player and will not be to far, if at all behind Bayo in the goal scoring charts come the end of the season, also Bayo offer's nothing what so ever in terms of league 1 football now, i think clubs like ours working off relativly small player budgets wanting to progress to a higher level, should be looking at younger better opitions, along the lines of Jamie Vardy who went from Fc Halifax into the bsp and is still finding the net, scoring 2 in 3 games for Fleetwood.
