Of greater concern is the fact that since the start of the season the Gulls have scored 12 goals in 8 league games and 2 in the 2 cup games:
Howe, apart from his 2 penalties, has scored only one goal from open play; Atieno and Macklin one each. They have been matched by O'Kane, Saah and Nicholson, and outdone by Mansell. Bodin and McPhee have one each, having played only 1-2 games.
Time for our big strikers up front to step up a gear (or cut down on the pasties) ? Then we might begin to win more games than we draw.
Or am I being a little unfair, at this stage of the season?

It is reassuring to know that we have got goals in us from all areas but not so reassuring that if this was not the case we would be pretty well Argyle-esque with our points tally given the poor goals return of our main strikers.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

All well and good saying the strikers aren't scoring but I think you have to also look at the service. Morris by own admission hasn't hit top form, Ling still doesn't know his best option to play wide right so the strikers aren't getting much from the flanks. When i think of pre season our strikers scored a few goals from decent crosses. They've not had too many of them so far. I still have full confidence that Howe can get 15 league goals for us this season.
I think for us to have the points tally we have so far considering the upheavel and player losses from the summer with the doom and gloom hanging around is pretty bloomin good so far. We won't win every game, we'll drop points when we shouldn't but i've seen enough thus far both in the games i've gone too and the results and highlights of others to suggest we can be a decentish mid table side this year. To be honest, that would do us a treat.
Agree Royal, there is plenty of time for our strikers to hit top form, i'm just thankful that others have chipped in this far though. We have accumulated more than half the points i expected we would at this stage without our strikers excelling so it has been an amazing start and we have so much to build on. I'm still not getting carried away though as it can all go tits up pretty quickly in this business so i'll take what we have and look forward to what i think is our toughest game of the season so far v Millers on Sat( I backed them to win l2 at 14/1). Hope they do but we get 6 points from them this season. COYY!!

Bloody BBC have been crap this week, no Ceefax updates or live scores..let's boycott the licence fee.
Fate: A police dog called Bryn bit Torquay player Jim McNichol and the time while he was receiving treatment was added onto the end of the second half.
