Rene the Wrestler

Post by Gullscorer »

During the week I saw Rene Howe described on the Rotherham fans board as a Sumo wrestler after the way he dumped Cresswell for Torquay's third goal last Saturday.

I thought the description rather unfair as Rene is naturally a big man, and if he goes on scoring goals like that does it really matter? Well, yes, because if he is somewhat overweight how many more goals could he score when he's fully fit? So he really should try to lose a few more pounds.

And, for the team as a whole, extra fitness and stamina in the last quarter of a game can make the difference between winning and losing.

On the other hand, Rene could eat a few more pies and double his size. Now that really might scare the shit out of opposing defenders.... :-D

he can have dips in form, just like every player. Thing is with Howe, whenever he plays badly people will put it down to his weight. Last week he nets and his size is a huge bonus, this week he's shit and needs to lose 5 stone. From what i've seen he'll be fine...

He may be a big unit, but to my mind he has the touch of an angel.

There is great art and artistry in being a Sumo wrestler.

Perhaps it was a compliment...

P.S. After today’s red card perhaps he is taking the martial arts element a little too far though but.
