2010 10 games without conceeding

Post by portugull »

last year between april 5th and august 21st we went 10 games in the league without conceeding a goal and scored 21.

3 of the back 4 in that run are still at the club, robbo, ellis and nico. the missisng man is of course guy branston.

the midfield was zebs ,manse, wroe and carayol (replaced by danny for the first 3 games of 2010/11 season.

in bodin we have a good replacement for zebs, okane replaces wroe and stevens is playing well based on yesterdays performance.

so we need to replace branno with a strong tall physical nononsense defender to give a bit of steel to the back 4.

i do not know given his track record why we signed atieno. we urgently need a quality striker and i think 2 players would make a huge difference to the squad.

yesterday was a massive disappointment as once we got back to 2-2 i really thought we had the momentum to go and win the game.

we just do not seem to have the right balance at present and where on earth was joe oastler when they scored the second goal?

So Ellis was part of that record beating defence and he now he can’t get a game.

But that doesn’t make any sense.

If I was him I would put in a transfer request.

Indeed, we need a vocal, solid centreback who is used to playing on the left side and keeping the defence organised. Kind of keeps Ellis out then Yellow?
