This came up at the last Fans Forum, the idea of having Friday night games back was championed by Simon Baker (the chairman, not the mentalist).

thats a curious one, but hopefully could work in our favour, as any of those sad saps that get dragged into shopping for (bloody) christmas may just be able to sneak out unnoticed to the football!!
then again its party season and there may be a few works dos on that night? or how about arranging your works do at the football!!??

still keeping the faith
I prefer that, as I'm normally playing football in saturdays! Hope we get a few fans along!
Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...

Barnet would of brought sod all on a Saturday would imagine that will be even less now.

I think this is more just another thing in a long list of things which are annoying Barnet fans at the moment. They're terrible to watch, seems they have almost no supporters remaining and to top it off, they have to travel down here on a Friday.
Yes, it's a bit off, and yes, I understand where they are coming from, but from a purely selfish point of view, I quite enjoy Friday night games.

I, for one, am incensed by this ill thought decision...
I'm not going to engage in a debate concerning whether or not it may inconvenience half a dozen or so Barnet fans - we all have our own particular crosses to bear - but those I met in the Union after last season's game were some of the best.
Whether or not few in number, like all of us, they'd have seen the fixture list when published and some would by now have already made travel and accommodation arrangements, no doubt with some being of the non refundable kind. It works two ways as well, us daft 400 mile round trippers such as myself could be messed up too. Admittedly, not in my case on this occasion as I was never going to be available that weekend but maybe others? Also, I have made my plans already for one of my favourite away trips of the season - to Accrington, the following weekend. How I will "laugh" if the Stanley (who have their own occasional Friday night tendencies) decide to take a similar decision.
As I say, thoughtless. Unfortunately the Football League can be relied upon not to think of travelling supporters, whether home or away, and will not block the date change...

This is a difficult one for the club. Will we lose more away and exile supporters than gain footballers and shoppers?
I personally would quite like Friday evening games but not if we lose punters through the turnstiles.
There is also the issue of loyal, long-distance supporters with season tickets who might reasonably ask for some of their money back I guess.

Seems it was Barnets suggestion to change it (according to WMN)

Friday night games suck. Trying to get anywhere, by road, on a Friday is a nightmare. The road networks become almost gridlocked. Plus you then have a sat. afternoon, when most other teams are playing, but your team are not involved. No excitement in looking at the scores, of the other league 2 clubs (In our case), just waiting for 5 o'clock to come. Annoying if you ask me.
