Award for Billy Kee

Post by Gullscorer »

Congratulations to Billy Kee who has just won the Football League Young Player of the Month award for October. There's an interview with him on the BBC Sport website. Previous winners this season were young lads from Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United.

Just shows the importance to a young footballer of having a settled personal life to enable him to concentrate on his football. Not everyone is affected by homesickness of course, but it's understandable, if suddenly moved away from family and friends into a new environment it can be difficult, certainly for a while.

It's good to know that hopefully our other recent signings have settled in happily.

Screw you 'Scorer, I was going to make this thread!

Top marks for Billy, starting to show that, whatever the reasons for allowing him to leave, we perhaps should have done a little more to keep him. He has mentioned his family in his acceptance speech, perhaps he really is a nancy boy who wants his mummy?

Matt.

Do we have a sell on clause? I hope so.

I also hope so.

Although, i thought we should have kept him anyway. I think the main reason he is liking Burton is that he jumped into the side almost immediately and after a good start has become a big fish in a small pond. Bucks preffered leaving Kee on the bench when he first came and then moved him to midfield for our play-off push. For me, Kee always had the quality, and would have been scoring goals for us had we had a little more patience.

However, he could just miss his mummy.
Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...
