Sad loss to the game at just 42, a true football man.

Great player for Ledds

I'm still in shock, he was on football focus yesterday and looked fine.

The Swansea game is going ahead today, big respect to them for having the strength to do it. Let's hope they give a spectacle Gary would have been proud of.
Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...

Devastating news. Saw him on Football Focus and he seemed very upbeat and confident about his job as Wales manager and his future. Something must have gone horribly wrong.

very sad news indeed, i used to watch leeds a lot in the early 90s and that midfield with him, mcallister strachan and batty was superb, real hit with the ladies too with his long hair.

would have thought things were going well for him with the wales team in great form, but you never know what goes on do you

RIP

Gee, have just seen this on the BBC website, totally shocked, watched him on telly on Saturday and he looked fine. He seemd a really nice bloke with all to live for, terrible news. Ive been feeling sorry for myself this week as I have been diagnosed with a nasty illness, and cannot do anything. Although mine will clear up hopefully in time, it does make you depresed. Obvioulsy dont know if this is related to depression but I think it makes you think that we all should watch out for any signs with friends and family.

RIP Gary, you were a top top footballer and a genuine guy

Indeed we don't know or the reasons that led to his sudden tragic death.

Agree with you there Neil. The circumstances and reasons of Gary Speed's sudden death will be revealed in due course.

Without speculating, some remain clear headed and calm on receiving bad news, some others go into shock . . . the muddled mind leads and the body follows, sometimes with unforeseen and tragic consequences.

Football today has suffered a loss. RIP Gary Speed.

also shocked by this. i think he had a pretty good career as a manager ahead of him and that wales side was just threatening to get somewhere under his reign.

if the rumours are true, clearly all was not as it seemed. sad news.

A true honest pro unlike many in todays game and one of great quality. Sad news indeed.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Ditto all the above - truly shocking news. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends who not only have to cope with his death, but the fact he chose to end his life. Tragic.
