BBC Sport - Goals of the Week (Not!)
'All the best goals from this week's Football League action,' their website proudly proclaims. They then proceed to totally ignore the goals from Eunan O'Kane and Danny Stevens in the game against Argyle, three strikes which completely outclass practically all of what they purport to be the best. Whoever in BBC Sport chooses these 'best' goals is an absolute ****** joker!

Just watched the clip expecting to see at least one of Eunan's goals, in fact based on what was shown, all three Torquay goals should have featured.

If Eunan's 2nd goal had been scored by, say Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, it would have been hailed as goal of the decade, by the commentators. Thats just Eunans 2nd!! His 1st, and Danny's, were both wonderful goals. All three should grace any "Goal of the week"programme. No wonder most people are getting bored to the back teeth with the premiership. Football DOES exist outside of the top, prima donna, division. I know, I watch it every week.

Top comment. It really frustrates me when this kind of quality goes unnoticed. You're right, if Rooney or David Silva had pulled off the exact same strike it would probably be on the Fifa shortlist for goal of the year, but no, this is Eunan of little Torquay, obviously a fluke!
However, Ling could be hushing up all talk of Eunan being good and has used his influence on the Beeb to make sure he goes unnoticed.
Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...

The BBC should spend less on finely tailored empty-headed pundits wearing bespoke but profoundly camp and grotesque shirts and skin tight trousers (Shearer?) and even less on needless presenters for the Football League show who talk absolute cess for long periods mainly about the Championship and then when its time for our goals the entire country has gone to bed! The BBCs football output mainly consists of a load of c**ks****rs who used to be footballers and who know jack shit about football never mind LOWER LEAGUE football.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

It's not just them, flick over to Sky Sports and you get succesful football managers (and people that can actually barely speak) like Iain Dowie and Paul Merson telling Andre Villas Boas how to do his job. Couldnt' script it. It's ok Merse, next time chelsea need advice on how to lose a cup match to Slough I'll get AVB to give you a bell mate.
One thing I have to give the BBC credit for is scrapping the 'email and text' section. It's bad enough having to listen to other football fans on a matchday rather than hearing their incoherent utter nonsense on a national TV show. I actually feel sorry for Claridge/Rosenior in a way. Because they are almost expected to know every player and every style from 72 Football League clubs it's utterly impossible, which is why you get re-hashed, ill informed nonsense every week. 'Yeah Terry Skiverton knowing Yeovil with the way they play will be disappointed with that' Knowing the way they play? What's that then? badly usually i think it is. But also thanks for that I'm sure they will be disappointed I didn't need some ex tramp striker whose had more clubs than Tiger Woods to tell me that to be honest. I'm a Yeovil fan and I've just seen my side lose 6-0 at Walsall, i'm practically suicidal I don't need 'our Steve' enlightening me with that pearler.
What I want is Sky's 'Netbusters' show. Only i want that after Match of the Day and I don't want some crappy music played in the background. If we mixed the two shows, we'd get what everyone wants. Alas nothing is ever that simple.

Did put somebody out of a job though. Can't remember what her name was, but I've not seen her, on TV, since.royalgull wrote:It's not just them, flick over to Sky Sports and you get succesful football managers (and people that can actually barely speak) like Iain Dowie and Paul Merson telling Andre Villas Boas how to do his job.
