And Matt, my mum says I'm special and that's all that matters!

Bigman wrote:I'm surprised that changing pics would be so costly, surely small businesses make changes like that to their websites all the time, maybe it's just a bad deal/provider we've got, but if this is the case obviously there are better things our cash strapped club can be spending funds on.

To address Gulliball's points:
1. I just think having 4 choices of top is a bit much - if there were that many outfield kits and all got worn at some point I think we'd feel hard done by as shirt buyers, surely one home and one away is plenty, and change one of those each season. Young goalkeepers out there wanting to emulate Bobby and wear the latest top he's in will have to shell out £80 (assuming they have both the home and away from last season already), and then still might not match him if they turn up at Plainmoor in green and Bobby's chosen orange for the day. It's a minor issue I'll admit, but I think we'd all be up in arms if there was an extra blue outfield kit that the team wore on random occassions and expected us all to buy.

2. I agree that we should try and sell the playoff shirts, and there probably will be buyers out there, but I think the price needs to be realistic to tempt people into such an unusual purchase. If they were a tenner I'd be tempted, but £20 is a bit steep for a novelty item, but obviously if they sell out at that price I'm dead wrong and should never be involved in marketing.

Our website, and we only sell on-line, costs us £19.99 a month plus VAT. We make changes EVERY day to it with no additional charges. Nowadays there are plenty of websites that are very easy to write and even easier to maintain.

I want a TUFC flag which they had in stock a couple of years ago. They were £5 each at the time. They don't do them now and only do blue and yellow checkered flags which I already have. I want those flags back in stock. With the website, Matt: Did Julia say when the deal is up for renewal?

If I remember rightly, JB, it's the end of next season.

Hi all

I'd just like to correct quite a bit of misinformation on here

1 there is no 'deal' no-one is paying anything for the website anymore and there is no contract or anything like that
2 the website was built on the cheap and very quickly for the club about 4.5 years ago to get the earning some money from an avenue they were getting nothing from
3 for a bit when the club ran it and there were good updates and marketing it was earning the club a lot, however a certain ex CEO didn't understand the Internet and didn't consider the online shop when the physical shop business was sold, so no-one took ownership of it and it got left high and dry

Practically all the website is content managed (pretty good for those long distant days) including all the product info and featured home page products etc, the only bits that weren't were the promo panels and the pictures - the idea being that these would be nicely done to help make the site do it's job from time to time...

Last January when Benyon and Wroe left I emailed them suggesting sending me a few pictures and I'll change them gratis - no success - eventually I gave up trying

Everyone is right it is much better than ever it was but I'm embarrassed about it and given up trying to help make it better

Everyone who knows me, knows I have put lots of effort into helping the club with it's marketing free if charge but you need some help back

The club shop website costs the club nothing because they don't actually own it anymore - would probably be better if they did

Si
