Bit gutted about that draw tbh!! Had we have clung on and got a result yesterday, woulda been Salisbury or Grimsby at home next round - surely an easy (ish!) path to the 4th round!!

Rovers got Villa. So what, we are 6 points clear of them in the table and they haven't a prayer of promotion this season which may mean Bucks gets the boot. Thats a far better scenario than playing Villas reserves ( Villa notorious for fielding reserves in games like this i think - hey , they weren't even bothered about the Europa league when they were in it so why bother putting in the big hitters against Rovers? ).
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

C,mon Andy, why so much bitterness?

If Torquay drew Villa at PlainMoor, you would be happy wouldn't you? A few hundred thousand more £'s in the coffers and a chance to pit your wits against a top division team.

Also it is a marathon not a sprint, and as much as I have criticised Buckle and I am not a fan at all, we have the quality at our disposal to get back up amongst the top 7.

Over the last fortnight or so, Buckle has certainly changed, you can see that in the way he has spoken to the press and the way he has come across in his interviews. He now knows that he is a man under huge pressure, and it looks like he is now keeping things simple and playing simple tactics and playing players in the right way, to simply hang onto his job.

Norwood, Dorman, Anyinsah and Carayol in a four and young Elliot Richards alongside Zebroski/Harrold is the way forward for us and Buckle has now realised that.

Last time we were in League 2 we were about 17th at Christmas, but still finished in the top 7 and managed to get promoted.

I am not saying we will go on a run like that again, but we know its not impossible, we have given ourselves a hell of a mountain to climb, but it can happen.

Even if it is Villa's reserves(I dont think it will be), It will still be a test and a full house at The Mem, Alex Mcleish is under huge pressure already, Just like Buckle, So if his team loses to a side 3 divisions below them, then no doubt he will be out the door, Just like Buckle would of been sacked if we had lost today in the same scenario.

Bring on the Villa :-D

Fair enough BritishGAS. Its not that i am desperate for Rovers to fail generally, just while Buckle is in charge. Once he has gone you can win back to back promotions for all i care, i'll be happy for you to do so. At the moment though, Rovers are paying this man and any money you get extra for a cup run will make Buckle a bit richer. I'd hate that.

Completely agree BritishGAS, we would be very happy with that draw, considering we normally are quite unlucky with f.a cup draws!

I think i'll want Rovers to win this game, as Buckle will be long gone by then! - And i will no longer have some kind of irrational hatred towards your club!
Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...

Phew.
I actually enjoyed that today, maybe it's a turning point for us, although it's more likely to be , as the bloke next to me said, that Buckle has found his level.

WShat did you reckon on the hospitality, Rex?

Just think, only a few years ago Totton were just a county league team, they've come a long way ;-)

It certainly has been a meteoric rise for them, and good luck to them- except your mate Sean New, didn't notice what happened at the time, but having watched the incident tv when I got back, I wish Muzzy had decked him!
Several appearances on the telly for yours truly every time Totton had a corner in the first half, leading to several million texts saying ' I can see you on the telly!', but I promise I won't let the fame go to my head darlings xxx

Given his sense of direction, Muzzy would have likely swung for New's chin and ended up punching him
In the stomach.

His sense of direction was faultless today, to be fair it would of been hard not to miss that geezers stomach, it was a monster of a girth

My old mate Sean New pulled a bit of a cheap shot on Muzzy though, he's been doing that kind of thing for years and always seems to get away with it.
when they went to the touchline when the score was 3 nil, and said "lets have a word with the Rovers manager" i turned the tv off before he even opened his gob. much as i have no problem with rovers, i was really hoping that was gonna be the final nail in the coffin for that little turd.

so i only saw the first 3 goals, and you had to feel sorry for the keeper, he barely saw any of them on his big day, three quality strikes.
