I think we all forget that despite playing for several clubs, Rene Howe is quite in-experienced at football league level, having played only around league 130 games, prior to Torquay. Discipline has been an issue at most clubs with previous red cards and countless bookings. Maybe that is why, despite going on loan to half a dozen clubs, no one put pen to paper for his services?
Should Rene get sent off again this season, which we have to say is possible, if not probable, he is heading for a minimum 5 match ban. That essentially means we could count him out for half the remaining games......not much value in that is there?
If Lingy cannot count on him, he must be working out some contingency plan. I suspect he will see how the likes of Atieno and McPhee play and make a decision on their suitability in the Jaunary window.
It's terrible news for Howe, who was on track to have his longest spell with any league club, but great news for those waiting in the wings

wheres Ben Joyce these days?
There is no doubt that a strong set of results over christmas would put the team in a fantastic position, however this run of games will not make nor will it break our season, last season due to the snow the team only played 1 game in December , so did not reach 21 games point untill the 3rd of January, we lost 4.3 to Oxford and sat 11th in the league with 29 pts, we all know how the season ended.
Fair play to Martin Ling, he said he would trust the squad , and he has done just that, this run of games now will give Atieno and possiblly Mc Phee to show whehter they are worthy of new contracts or not, the ball is in there court , lets hope they step up to the plate.

I'm looking forward to these festive season games, as it will be 3 weeks after the Argyle match until I see the next game against the Daggers on Tuesday 24th of Januuary.

Then we're home again the same week (January 28th) against Northampton.
