Out of interest (ex players)

Post by tufcbrett »

With Buckle "maybe" out the door at Rovers (this is not a bckle thread)
I could see some of our old players like Zebs and Stanley being shown the door. Question is would you like to see them back?

Same with other old players such as Robinson, looks like he will be leaving Northampton.
There could be many old players on the ropes at there clubs.

I know Ling has his own targets and may not be intrested in any of them players. But just out of interest what the fans think. Would you like any of above or anyone else back at Plainmoor.

I will start and say i wouldnt mind Zebs and Stanley back. Both would be decent squad players and if they did anything like they did before for us, they would make the squad that much better and wouldnt worry about injuires so much.

Zebs back?! The bloke's a bloody human boomerang! Zebs no way, Stanners yes, Robinson definately yes, Bevan or Bobby? - no contest. What the hell has happened to Benyon anyway? Anyone know?
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

He's at Wycombe on loan from Swindon. He's only played three games for Wycombe and he's obviously not a part of Di Canio's plans at Swindon.

Would take back Benyon and Stanley, after the way Zebroski left us I wouldn't want him back, Benyon would give us another option up front which I feel we need.

Purely on ability I would take back Zebroski, Benyon, Stanley and Robinson without a second thought. But there's other issues to consider and thankfully we now have a manager with a contact list that goes beyond the first line. Bevan we have no need for at all.

As long as we keep hold of Bobby past January ;-)

Stop worrying Dave. If worst case scenario happens we've got Ricey. :'(

I'm not worried mate, I just happen to know there is a lot of interest in him. I have a feeling the resolve of the Board will be tested sooner rather than later.

Test the resolve of the Board?

Oh. Bye Bobby.

I'm still shocked we ever managed to get Bobby! He is a cut above League Two standard IMO and will move on soon enough, but i don't think he'll go in January. He'll hang around and see where we are at the end of the season, i think.
Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...

The two glaringly obvious facts for all to see are that Bobby is Austrian so naturally he is better than everyone else  but also he is quite an outstanding goalkeeper and IMO is Championship standard as it stands. There is now way we are going to be able to hang onto him for much longer. We should credit Martin immensly for finding the lad, bringing him down to Torquay an training him on. We should also credit Martin for achieving something i'd never see in my lifetime - a quality player released from an SPL club!

Graham & Woozley for me also. ( No they're not a firm of solicitors! Behave.) AND Hockers & Hill ( No they're not a building firm based in Shaldon! ), i would also have said Gritts as i love him first time around but he came back and was cack.
