Got mine today. Can't wait. Just been reading some fan reviews on grounds guide and two recent ones from an Exeter fan an a Saints fan both say that there is trouble at the ground and outside and away fans needed a police escort to the station. Is it really that BAD at Home Park?
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

The Modbury section are all ticketed up and ready for the match.
I have to say I've been to four Argyle v Gulls matches at Home Park and never felt threatened but this is the first time Argyle have been the bottom of the pile and some of the Neanderthals may just try and take it out on our supporters if they lose. I expect the boys in blue to have everything worked out, however.
Just remember though that most Argyle supporters are genuine people and any trouble will be very much from the mindless minority.

There shouldn't be any trouble - we will be lift sharing with Argyle supporters - though then heading off to our different ends of the ground!

So far we have nearly sold 1,000 tickets! I think that's great so far, hopefully we get a good result against Oxford to tempt fans that are not 100% sure if they're going. With some fans buying tickets on the day and with 4 days to go, we should bring 1,500 maybe even near the 1,800 mark!

Formerly dannyrvtufc4life.
Got mine at lunchtime, and as Danny says above at that point we had sold 980 tickets, so i think we will get atleast the minimun i hoped for of 1250 down there, good times.

That will be amazing. I've never been to a Torquay league game away when we have taken so many, the most i have witnessed was the 700 or so at Rotherham on the last day of last season. I know its because its Argyle but does anyone know if we have taken a similar number to a league game in recent history that wasn't at Argyle or Exeter?

You have to be a bit more careful down there-there's been trouble on several occasions I've been supporting the Gulls'-chased back to the coach;stewards standing back whilst several Gulls fans were being punched and kicked in the car-park;one lad sustained a broken jaw after the 4-3 defeat several years ago.The walk back to cars or train station can be a bit worrying=especially if they lose.
Suggest a cautious aproach- hide your colours until you get in the ground and after the match-keep to areas with a police presence. No provocation etc.

Nearly 3000 to Southend on the final day of 2003/04. Unbelievable day. Never seen so many Gulls (apart from the Wembley games). Also remember 1000 at Cheltenham that year, 1200 at Yeovil, all in the same year. The following year we had 1000 at Colchester on the final day (god-awful ground, Layer Road, Gulls fans at both ends of the ground), and of course we had thousands at Barnet when we survived (not sure how many, but plenty were locked out I believe).austrianandygull wrote:That will be amazing. Been in big followings at Bristol Rovers, I think we took 1000+ to Bristol City when in L1 in 2004/05.
Southend is the biggest one I've been in though - I remember reading that Mike Bateson had told them to expect about 1000, so they weren't prepared for a sell out of that end. Joyous.

I was at that Cheltenham game Nick. Was it the one where we won 2-1 i think and woodsy got a bullet header into the top corner in front of us? I remember the terrace being rammed but thought it was just because Cheltenham had quite a small away end. Great day that. Oh and going back to what the previous poster said about trouble several times at Argyle going back to the cars. Surely if you park in the club car park you'll be fine? Yes?

That's where it always kicks off mate

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine. If you want to see what it can be like, just look on youtube, there are plenty of videos showcasing their scum element
