That's Bucks out of the sh#t then, just signed Pokey on loan from brighton. Bevan is "injured" just like he was here when he lost confidence!!. Don't know how they can afford Pokes wages, when he was here Southampton were paying his reputed £4k a week.

Do have a look at the Bristol Rovers forum.....such fun!!

Think I might invest a fiver on Rovers to beat Villa with Pokey in goal.

I thought Poke was a great goalkeeper, one of the best I've seen in a Torquay shirt. But just because Buckle has once again turned to his ex players because he can't do anything else and he has no contacts, that doesn't mean Buckle's troubles, are over. Is Pokey going to score their goals? No it's going to be exactly the same but maybe a few less goals conceded.

While he was here, Pokey was absolute class. However, as Danny has alluded to ^^^ up there, he is but one man and he will not be able to save Rovers from decline all on his own. So, he might be worth a-goal-a-game to them (it won't, no keeper is worth over 40 goals/season), but that might not be enough.

Just for a laugh, if you take off one goal conceded by BRFC since the start of the season (and without adjusting for the consequent reduction in other teams points, but they're insignificant to us anyway), Rovers are a point behind us with 34 and a GD of +4 (to our 35 and +5), so they're still not the automatic promotion sure thing they all thought they'd be.

Interesting to see a couple of threads on their forum STILL proclaiming that Rovers are too good to go down, some people are just too stupid to be helped.

If Pokey has a nervous start he could go the same way as he did at Brighton and Saints beforehand. Buckle better hope he comes in full of confidence...............

Oh yeah, if there's one thing the Rovers fans are full of, it's patience.

Yes, but they usually score one or two in their games so if their new central defender & Pokey improve the goals against column then Buckle will be "out of the sh#t" & get another season to do the job. :scarf: :scarf:
