Has been released. Worth a punt and bring him home?

Surprised by that, Always thought he was a decent player. Didnt he score the winner against us last(?) season at Aldershot?

Fall out with Holdsworth apparently. Don't think we need another CM right now, though.. can't see him being too cheap either..

Always liked him as a player, and always hoped that he might eventually return "home". But, as others have already said, I just can't see us fitting him in to our current squad/budget. I'm sure there will be plenty of other takers at this level for him though.

Guttridge would be known to Lingy anyway as he signed him for Leyton Orient in the 06/07 season - but he turned down a new contract in that summer in order to play Championship football for Colchester.

Wikipedia "suggest" that he may be about to sign for Oxford United, which would make sense given that one of their players (Josh Payne) has just moved in the "other" direction (Oxford > Aldershot).

If we were in that position, he would fit the bill, although seems unlikely with Oxford's interest. I have seen the Shots' last three home matches. Christ, one more than Torquay matches I've seen in the last month ! They have failed to score on each occassion against Plymouth, Oxford and Accrington. They will miss him as I would consider him to be the only shining light for them during their barren spell. 1 goal in 9 League games and out goes their only creative spark, bar MgGlashan who has gone to Cheltenham and Rodman out injured for the rest of the season.

Guess they'll have to look elsewhere in their small squad for that spark. Here's hoping we don't have to for a Eunan replacement.

Looks like we'll be seeing him back at Plainmoor after all!! In fact he's in the squad for tomorrow!!!

.... Northampton's that is! :aww:

Decent signing for them.

I used to know the guy personally and he had a great time at Northampton before so it's not a surprise for me.

Remembering Chris Hargreaves comment about Northampton being "a great club" you get the feeling that they normally look after their players.

Should see an upturn in the Cobblers fortunes with Guttridge in the team. I just hope it doesn't come tomorrow! :(
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Yep, to the tune of £7m in 4 years if you believe their chairman :)
