There's a difference between being ambitious to win stuff - 3rd division promotion, say - and being ambitious for your own career. A move like Robinson has just made is ambitious for his career. Presumably he's got a nice pay raise. Can't begrudge him that.I don't think you're going to find any player staying at a team like ours because they might win something if the alternative is higher division football.

I think you may have missed my point.
We all like Robbo. We all wouldn't begrudge him his move. Non of us would tell him he can't have a move to a higher division team.
But. He has moved to a team not doing well. It's now controlled by One Mr Risdale. (oh how I wish it was Grimsdale) and we all know what has happened to each and every team that Grismdale has been with in the past few years.
I would have said to Robbo. Look lad, I know your good enough to play for em. I know you want a pay rise etc. But hang on for a mo. Have you thought this one through. If he is in charge. in a few months he will have ruined the club. They will run out of cash. He is a magician that one. You won't have been paid for 6 months and they will be lucky if they can keep out of the Blue Square North let alone the league 2. while we will hopefully be in league 1.
he should have gone for a better team.
Of course we could have hoped he went with Dave to Barcalona but I suppose that is echoing too much of Rovers pludering our talent.
