New BBC Sport Layout

Post by leetufc »

What's everyone's opinion on the new BBC Sport website layout?

Personally not a fan but maybe that's because it needs to time for me to get used to it. It did need a revamp as it looked slightly dated, but I don't think they've hit the mark with the new design, not on first impressions at least.

I don't like it. The old site had everything in the left hand column for quick reference.

The League tables are a proper f**k up.

Show the League tables like the papers do Beeb. :@

You need to move with the times Grandad :-D

The full league table is excellent - clicking on the teams arrow on the left hand side gives an excellent summary of the different stats.
Clicking the on the next fixture shows up the stats for the previous five games, the score from the last game the two sides met.

Really good effort - good to see the licence fee being used properly for once.

Grandad ? Now listen here young man, this left click/right click caper all seems a bit too clicky for me.

Beeb, bring back the old format for the o' farts. :)

I'll agree its got some good features, and as I said the old BBC website was looking dated and needed an upgrade, but not a fan of the new layout. I miss the drop down menu on the left which made it easy to navigate. The layout for the individual clubs is better than before in my opinion, but the majority of the layout, particularly on the sport and football homepage isn't my cup of tea at present.

Also, in spending so much time and money on this revamp, I wish they employed someone to change the club squads on a regular basis, especially during a transfer window. Not only is Robbo still in our squad, but Mo Camara! I know its old news to many of us, but serious lack of consideration for lower league fans at the BBC!

Haven't really explored it properly yet.

My BBC Sport bookmark goes straight to the TUFC page, and having seen the acid yellow colour they've gone with, I thought there was going to be a little club-by-club colour customisation. Just out of interest, I went onto another L2 side's page and it was still yellow. Shame really, although probably irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

looks pretty but cumbersome to use, takes a good few extra clicks to get anywhere apart from the main headlines

More cleaner interface but it is poorly laid without the columns, just need to break the content up a bit
