Fair points bengull.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Of course we would all love to bring in a striker who can bang a dozen goals in between now and May, but in reality we do not have a massive goal scoring problem considering our style of play this year and the fact that we seem more than able of carving out single goal victories.
My number 1 choice for a loanee would be someone who can cover adequately for Lathorpe is he is out injured or suspsended as we miss him terribly when he is not on the park

Even though that particular game was lost today, I think your point is still valid. We all know Lingy's got his fingers in a few pies, we may lose a few games along the way but I much prefer the measured, exhaustive approach of our current manager to the 'if it doesn't work, sign somebody else' ethos of his predecessor - a mentality which ultimately got him into trouble at Rovers when it was basically found out that that was all he could do.bengull wrote:The squad that travels to Gillingham is the same squad that took 6 points off of Cheltenham and Shrewsbury which at the beginning of the month everyone was saying was impossible, as such there is no need to panic about tomorrow. We are ahead of the game in terms of league position because of these players, lets give them the chance to keep us there before we shuffle the pack without good reason.

Right then, I will get my boots ready. good for a 30 yard shot if my Zimmer frame allows me near enough to the goal.austrianandygull wrote:Sorry guys ( bengull & forever ) i disagree. I would be happy with literally anybody. They will be new, they will be fresh and they will be eager. Our attack is becoming stale and ANY new impetus or direction can surely only be beneficial? If only until the end of the season. Take Nathan Craig as an example, i may be painting things black and white but if he is a Torquay player then chuck him in there. If he wants to earn a contract then give the lad the opportunity to do so. Who else have we got? McPhee? To me it's a no brainer.

We need a plan B for when plan A isn;t working.
If we score first, we have a great set up to keep it tight and outplay the other team
Where we have been struggling is when we go behind, we are struggling to make or put away chances (by the way I am not worrying as the luck will return)
Lathrope - I thought McPhee did a great job, i think he is best as a central player
Nathan Craig - either he is fit enough or he isn't but I'd like to see him on the bench and throw him on with 15 minutes to go than bring on McPhee on the wing
Yeoman - I thought he did well when he came on against Bradford and looked the best of our 3 strikers
So unless Craig is up to it - I think we need a dashing winger type player and possibly a goal poacher, hasn't Fernando Torres been sidelined from the team again?!!!

I hope you are not suggesting we drop Tai or Rene for Torres.highweekgull wrote:We need a plan B for when plan A isn;t working.
