there really are a lot of idiots in the home crowd, these people rarely travel to away games and fail to see the hard work that people like morris, bobby and lil danny have put in this season
they always seem to have loud voices for some reason, so i guess its up to us to shut them up by cheering for the players they single out
lil danny has been my most improved player this season, morris is still finding his feet in the team, and bobby has been an absolute superstar from his first game onwards

I laughed off Danny's shocker yesterday, epitomised by his Wong free down the left and dribbling the ball straight out of play. Clown! Morris, unfortunately, not so much and was, once again, deeply frustrating. I applauded him off the pitch, of course, but among my little gang, I was calling for Jarvis from the off (predominantly evade he is fundamentally a better player than Morris). Wouldn't do it out loud though, that's just not cricket.

Some of these fans should at least get some consistency. Tai was dreadful when he came on and ran into a few blind alleys not knowing what to do with the football. Didn't hear anyone booing him though. I thought the first hour we were truly appalling and EVERYBODY was playing shite so it is unfair to single out any one player. Morris and Stevens were ineffective at a time when we needed a goal so Ling brought on Tai and Jarvis to add something else. To boo them off is a joke and the people responsible should be embarrassed and ashamed. Howe got man of the match but apart from scoring the pen and running about a bit he was awful. Would they have booed him off if he were subbed? Doubt it somehow. Everyone knows i don't think Stevens is a very good player and he had a bloody atrocious game yesterday but i would never boo him off the field of play or when he has the ball. If i think a player hasn't put a shift in or been particularly poor then i will not clap them off the field if they get subbed. I don't think that is disrespectful on my part just showing my annoyance in a way that is not going to affect Danny. If a player is consistently bad and the team is crap then i can maybe understand it but we're in 2nd place FFS! Are all the 'usual' fans that boo and slag off stood in one particular area on the pop as i generally didn't hear anything too negative? Must have been stood at the wrong end.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

I didn't think Atieno was dreadful at all. He held the ball up very well and linked with up with Eunan and Joe Oastler down the right. His dribbling isn't his strong point but he has good technique and rarely loses possession when he has his back to goal - he looked bright.
I cringed when Morris was cheered off and his reaction said it all. However, lets not let it slide that once again he was poor. He offers nothing on the right wing and my plea for Jarvis' inclusion before the game on the match thread was justified. Danny was just as bad but he wasn't cheered off, he has scored eight goals and has contributed this season, the fans can see that. It's not Ian's fault he is being played out of position but I think the cheers (which came from the singers' section, there couldn't have been more than 10 but it was very audible) were not just about yesterday's game, since he has gone on to the right wing I think he has been dire. When he went to left midfield against Rovers in a 4-4-2 he looked good again. Ling has a decision to make for Friday night, the fact it is away from home may save Ian from exclusion.

feel a bit sorry for Ian Morris, he is not a winger, why some of our moron fan's think thats what he should doing is beyong me, he deos not have the pace or the stature to be a winger, he is more of a wide midfielder.
Personaly my view is that Morris would be more suited to a central role, because Morris can pass the ball and pass it well, but O'Kane play's thier, so little chance of that at the minute.
We fan's most remember thats players will have a few bad games during a season, that happens, as with most clubs some players are forgiven, with us O'Kane and Ellis can play bad and still win motm, the likes of Morris and Stevens never forgiven, it's a shame and it's wrong.
Support your team, support your players, regardless, we are all yellow and in it together.

I couldn't make yesterday due to a family emergency but it doesn't take much to guess exactly who the culprits were. I think it's time I had a little word in the ears of the cretinous bunch.
As others have said it beggars belief that with the kind of season these players have given us that a select few take it upon themselves to belittle our own.

I'd agree with this. I dont think Morris is a winger either. He doesnt have the pace to be one. Also agree that he would be better in the middle as I think he's excellent at passing the ball and creating chances.forevertufc wrote:feel a bit sorry for Ian Morris, he is not a winger, why some of our moron fan's think thats what he should doing is beyong me, he deos not have the pace or the stature to be a winger, he is more of a wide midfielder.

But I agree we need to back all of the players the best we can regardless of what we think of them. Theyve got us to second in the league and even the most optimistic Torquay fan didnt think we would have as good a season as were having.
Hopefully we can get a good following to Barnet and make some noise on Friday night and get fully behind the lads for the rest of the season.

I was with the singers in the middle yesterday and I thought the boo's/cheers that Morris received was ridiculous. Morris played poorly yesterday and I thought that Ling did the right thing in taking him off, but you can't boo your own player! I'm not the biggest fan of Morris', but I always support him, because it's not going to help his performance if the fans are on his back all the time. I did not boo or cheer when Morris was subbed and I hope that Morris ignores those that did and proves them wrong with a good finish to the season.

If any of them are of the older generation then I bet they are of the mind set that we don't cheer on our team at plainmoor. Well we do now and we get behind our players so in my earlier words, "We support and get behind our players. Get used to it. Period!"Southampton Gull wrote:I couldn't make yesterday due to a family emergency but it doesn't take much to guess exactly who the culprits were. On another note, to those travelling to Barnet it may be a good idea to sing "One Ian Morris" or something along them lines before the game? NOT JUST IF HE SETS UP A GOAL OR SCORES!

I didn't reckon that Morris had a shocker, but Stevens did that is for sure. As Dinger said, some players were not where they were supposed to be. Both players were rightfully replaced after being given 15mins of the 2nd half to pull their fingers out.
Stevens especially, was the Stevens he is. Did he disappear off the wing (where he should have been) and "hid" in the middle with Rene, before the Popside got on his case, or after ? Either way you don't go and "hide" from your critics, you stay where the manager has asked you to play and you get your finger out and double up your efforts.
I don't have a problem with Morris, but I do with Stevens when he "hides" like that. I neither jeered nor cheered the substitutions, I roundly clapped both the players going off and the players coming on.
