The New Manager Effect?

Post by Gullscorer »

BRISTOL ROVERS:

Buckle's last four games: P4 W0 D0 L4 F5 A14 Pts:0

McGhee's first four games: P4 W3 D1 L0 F6 A2 Pts:10

LUTON TOWN:

Brabin's last four games: P4 W0 D1 L3 F3 A9 Pts:1

Buckle's first four games: P4 W3 D1 L0 F8 A2 Pts:10

Interesting to see the almost instant turnaround in form when the new managers took over. Less pronounced improvements took place at Bristol Rovers and Torquay United between the end of last season and the beginning of this one, though comparisons may be less valid due to so many changes happening during the summer. So what does this indicate? Nothing really, except perhaps the reason why clubs change managers, and I suppose the fact that managers, like players, can fail to achieve at some clubs but have great success at others, but most of all that football's a funny old game.. :keepie:

I've a feeling Buckle will do well at Luton eventually but Mansfield in the play offs for me. They are coming on strong towards the business end of the season and they are only 8 miles away should they go up and we don't !!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
