Water logged pitch?

Post by PlainmoorRoar »

Not really liking the amount of rain we have had last couple of days with more forecast for the next couple of days

Was there on Tuesday, few minor puddles and pitch was looking okay

fingers crossed this doesnt come into play! :red:

Well i don't know what it was like in Torquay today but up here it's been hammering it down non stop all day and roads are flooded. I think the forecast is pretty similar for the south west well into the weekend so if this is going to cause a problem i hope they make a decision on friday.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Torquay sea front was closed today because of flooding but we don't play on the sea front so I am sure Aussie will do a good job of getting our little pitch on the hill ready! ;-)

I know that there is concerns and have volunteered to help for this reason. Is there a precedent for call offs at this time? Would it have to be played before hereford? Im just thinking this could work out advantageous as would allow time for players to recover and we would know results required

Not advantageous for me mate as i've already bought a ticket so will lose £17 as there is no way i can get down to Torquay for a night match but if we go up because we had to win a re-arranged game then i suppose i'll be happy to forfeit the £17. ;-)

Do you pronounce torre as TORRY or TOR? Outsider so don't know but have always wondered.

In all seriousness, is a waterlogged pitch a real possibility at this stage or has the danger passed? I'd like to know for definate tomorrow as i'm due to travel down early doors saturday. I hope for GazzaB's sake the game will be on as it sound like an epic trek he has had to get down from dirty Leeds! Gazza, you'd have been quicker steering a camel down the M5 mate!
