All part of the Master Plan ;-) Don't forget that Billy bodin knows 'inside out' how we like to play, & would have fully briefed the Crewe management & players.
They would have been expecting Danny to push on down the wing ahead of Nico & so we did the exact opposite on this occasion to catch them out.

And just when they were adjusting to Danny hanging back more than they expected, he catches them out by popping up in the middle up front to score a beauty.
Always stay one step ahead of the opposition, even if it's one step ahead of the Pop Side as well :~D

Bodin did not have one of his best games. Seemed to let Nico make up the half yard to get in a tackle/header. And when he was behind Nico from a left wing cross, headed tamely at Bobby.

Well played Billy, hope to see you in for pre-season 2012/13 on a two year contract.

I like your logic Alpine but we'll have to agree to disagree on this occasion. Just same old Danny first half i'm afraid.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Bang out of order Andy . . . :red: . . . -> . . . :O

Lil' Danno had a better first half at Plainmoor than in recent home games. He loves the Grandstand side, just to get away from the detractors on the Popside. We had them on the ropes after Danno scored, and it was a mistake to take him off. :(

In Martin Ling I trust.

Oh my life. Surely not. the sight of either Trojan or Aussie in a leoturd.
Should we witness such a thing I don't think I would be able to come up for air for at least a month

Danny Stevens this season is, more than he has ever been, a high quality class player. It's strange, though, how this fact has always been recognised more by opposition clubs and supporters than by the Gulls own fans. Maybe we should stop being so critical of our own players and give them much more support..

Alpine Joe wrote:cambgull is quite correct in pointing out further factual mistakes in Trojan's post.

'The United boss has also renegotiated new deals with winger Danny Stevens, highly-rated midfielder Eunan O'Kane and club stalwarts Kevin Nicholson and captain Lee Mansell'. http://www.thisissouthdevon.co.uk/Ling- ... story.html

Ling was appointed in the middle of June & Danny's 2 year contract expires on 30th June 2013 http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/danny ... 35443.html

Of course you can interpret your own rules as you wish, and if Tojan thinks that saying that someone 'hasn't got the balls' for a 46 match season can't be classified as a personal attack then so be it.

If 'Now is not the time for the "unforgiving side" (Popside) to get on Stevens case', you can't help wondering whether his post doesn't actually add fuel to the fire of the very people who do get on Stevens back. Very strange timing indeed.
Oh Dear Trojan. I can now visualise you doing a very good impression of a Lancaster Bomber being shot down and slowly dropping to crash in a bright exposion of flames to slowly sink without trace below the waves. as you raise a hand which disapears waving bye bye.
Or of course you could be one of the Engurland players taking a penalty in the world cup final only to sky it over the bar in hugely spectacular fashion while you sink to your knees wishing the ground would open up in a vivid impression of an open cast mine.
And you tries so hard too!

At least his soaking from the sprinklers in the warm-up provided some amusement in a day where there was very little!
