CONFIRMED: Mark Ellis to Crewe ....
I think 80k is a little under what we deserve but the problem is taking the gamble on the tribunal and even if we did the money would take a considerably longer time to filter through which might hamper the building squad plans of Ling as well as the essential training facilities upgrade we have planned. Glad this is getting sorted as the last thing you want is a player whose heart is elsewhere.
Good luck Mark - hope you do well.

I've always seen matters quite simple with footballers, if they want to leave, just get rid of them. The earlier in a transfer window that happens, the more time there is to replace them and the cheaper the replacement will be (due to the price rise in the run up to the end of the transfer window). Au revoir Mark!
Luke.

i agree Luke. The good thing this year, compared to last, is ML is on the ball, and has already been planning in the event of losing EO'K, Ellis & Bobby, so has probably already done his homework and window shopping. once the deals are done, he can then go out and make offers to his targets.
Ellis does seem to have been stringing this along, which suggested he wanted away, so already had one foot out the door. would've thought our valuation would be 100k+, and at this level, i'm sure ling will be able to do a fair bit with that money, so take the money, let Ellis move on, and let ML do his stuff.

Does anybody think he would cut it in the division above?

Looks as though it is done and dusted for £80k

He has the potential but needs to cut out the 'insane' moments he has.Scott Brehaut wrote:Does anybody think he would cut it in the division above?

Totally agree, as the signing of Craig Easton shows we can now move quickly for our preferred targets.Regiment wrote:i agree Luke. I would tend to disagree, as soon as the finances were in place he signed.
Why would any club sign as unattached player much before July 1st. We are not going to pay him to be on Holiday!cambgull wrote:Well, I'd say the Craig Easton transfer was about as quick as a snail's climb of Everest. It did seem to drag on for ages.

Just noticed this, would love to see Smith and even Connell return. Connell could play the support striker role to Howe well and Smith is a very capable centre midfielder to replace Eunan.

I'd take Connell back. However as Swindon payed a six figure fee for him they are unlikely to let him go on the cheap and I think any money from the deals we've done so far could be spent more economically, on a range of players, and of better quality.
Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...
