Hemmings is staying until the end of the season
Finally gritton and oastler also look like there staying although no extended loan has been agreed yet

Glad to hear we're keeping Oastler on, preferred Rose to Hemmings because of that superb goal he scored against...Morecambe?
Anyway hemmings has a bit of pace though I fear he's a jake thompson type, he can run and run and run but can't put the ball in the net..

I'd also like gritton return to Chesterfield- and target someone else. He's not a lot more than a waste really.
Rose had a promising start but has struggled recently so we could use that space elsewhere- possibly another winger!!
I'm impressed with oastler, not only can he play right back but he's a good passer. He'd be my favourite to replace Wroe should he leave.

I'd swap Oastler for Wroe in an instant, so delighted about this. Always assumed Rose to be the more talented of our 'heavily tanned' loanees, but I feel Hemmings is a perfectly decent player at this level, excellent pace, good skills, let down only by his ownership of a Louis Vuitton manbag.
I have no prior memories of Gritts, so I'm not swayed in my judgement that he is pretty hopeless. Ok, target man eh? That's all well and good, and I know we were in a different league, but Sillsy was a target man and he got 15 goals a season nailed on. Gritts is a VERY limited talent these days, he holds up the ball well, but that's it. He presents absolutely no threat to the opposition goal, nor with a ball over the top. He can be marked by a single, small defender. Really, he is far too specialist (limited) to be worth his salary.

Sort of a mixed bag of news really.
Not fussed about Rose going home. Undoubtedly talented, but he's going to waste that with a complete lack of work-ethic. Great touch and control but won't track back and can't be relied to put in a shift. Taking him off at Oxford was the right thing to do, and I could have guessed that even having not been there. O.K so he scored one great goal, but if in between great strikes he does very little its not really going to produce long term gain.
Hemmings - great news. Didn't like him at first, he had a shocker of a debut at Gillingham but it seems Bucks has put some time in with him and Hemmings has really grasped what is required of a winger in League 2 level. At Stockport he showed flashes of Muzzy-esque brilliance and impact, but faded after half time. At Wycombe, he gave 55odd solid minutes of Muzzy-surpassing, full-back terrorising skill and pace and looks a real asset. Still a work in progress but the ingredients are there, and mark my words there will be a day this season where he absolutely destroys someone and single-handedly wins a game.
Oastler - I'm hoping this would be a permanent deal. Lets be honest, with QPR flying high in the Championship and Oastler being at that crucial age he's not going to good enough for Premiership football next season, and he may never ever be good enough. However, he looks to be one of those players who can forge a long and fruitful career in the lower leagues, and there is no shame in that. Strong in the tackle, good in the air, uncomplicated on the ball. The perfect foil for Wroe and O'Kane to pull the strings. He's like a Mansell with a little more finesse, and thats no slur on Manse. I'd be happy if we could nab him for the rest of the season if not to a permanent deal.
Gritton - hmmmmmmm, jury out still for me. Occaisonal flashes of looking like a target man don't really do enough. Had a good half hour or so against Chesterfield but never really won the ball in the air or was any sort of threat. I'd prefer us to look elsewhere, but then again he's Martin Gritton and we all love him! Although thats part of the problem - he's still dining out on a couple of good seasons with us under Leroy, and has never looked like replicating that since.
