Can anyone in the Crediton area check to see whether John Cornforth is out walking his dog?

Seriously, as others have said, Cotterill would be perfect; experienced at this level, probably not interested in the job long-term, and 'local' enough not to think of Torquay as the football equivalent of the moon.

Steve Cotterill only joined QPR last month as a coach.

PhilGull wrote:How about Brian Little? Out of work since leaving Gainsborough Trinity. Lots of experience. Not afraid to go to a smaller club. As far as I know is quite respected within the game.
Just stumbled on this. He may be up for it! "If I were to go back into the professional game, I'd like to have a similar role to what Lennie Lawrence has now with Dougie Freedman at Bolton. As an advisor, or a mentor, an experienced assistant for a younger manager."

More funds will be available for players on loan,so hopefully anyone coming in will be able to strengthen the squad in areas they deem necessary.

Looks like we're now looking for someone to come in until the end of the season.

I'm surprised that John Sitton hasn't been mentioned. He would soon motivate the lads with his passionate brand of management! Was treated very unfairly by Leyton Orient and deserves another go at management.

On the basis that, as things stand at least, we are only offering in effect a 3 month contract until the end of the season, I think we can safely rule out anyone in employment such as Hodges, Lee(Truro) or Kevin(Plymouth) and I would also suggest that Leroy is another non starter as well given his media work.

I wonder whether someone like John Deehan might be considered after he performed a similar role with Plymouth, supporting Carl Fletcher, at the end of last season.

Would Paul Trollope give up his position at Norwich?
Would he be any good?

I dont think Trollope would be that good. He seemed to struggle a bit once Lawrence left Rovers. We are limited to who we could attract for a short term job with most likely coming to nothing once the season comes to an end and Ling returns..

Rather 'if' Ling returns.
As much as I wish him well... we still have no idea what he is suffering from and what his prospects of a return are!
So it could become a longer term appointment and therefore more attractive to certain parties.
Not wishing to sound mercinary... but I wish Martin and his family well and the club I support to survive in this league.
