The pop actually sounds pretty loud from the bench at times. Good job lads.

Rochdale's #19, Pearson, was an absolutely bloody disgrace. How the ref let him get away with climbing all over and pulling down Rene for the entire bloody game is astonishing.

What a brilliant game! It had everything including 3 points for United superbly led by Manse who sets the tempo and leads by example.
The two opening home games prove we have a squad who are so together and play for one another.
Niall Thompson saw little of the ball for 20 minutes but then played an exquisite ball through the eye of a needle to Rene who would have scored but deciided to take atouch first. Playing in front of the Popside Thompson came alive and looks a real find . I love players with pace and Niall made a terrific debut.
Rene and Billy now have 4 goals from last 2 games and well on the way to 30 goals in what promises to be a great season.
View from the Bench is fantastic.Once Downes was red carded game changed big time and Pokey produced some stunning saves plus a great goal line clearence from Nico.
Good atmosphere. Rochdale are a good team but we were better. We badgered them all the time and Manse was like alittle terrier.
Only negative for me was Ian Morris. Surely Nathen Craig now deserves a chance.
Surely Martin Ling will have to get a CB on loan for Port Vale.
So enjoyed seeing my team perform so well. Back at Christmas for more excitement.

Downes is an amazing CB
EVERY corner for us he was attacking it and 90% pf the time won the header
Gutting he is out for 3 games,
Why oh why did Oastler not stay at RB and Cruise go CB though!!??

my understanding was that a straight red is 3 games and 2 yellows is 1 game?

No, 3 games. It was a straight red.

A straight red for violent conduct is 3 games. A straightforward professional foul is just one game. Think back to last season - Gillingham away, Saah was sent off as last man (well, at the time they sent Oastler off but it was later correctly transferred to Saah) and he was only banned for one match.

I didn't mention Cruise, but I thought he was utterly awful playing right back, it seemed like he wanted to be playing centrally. Who's idea was it to play Oastler in the middle with Cruise on the right, because it meant that when Morris went over to the right hand side, when Bodin came off, we had two left footers on the right hand side of the pitch! I did think Downes slipped because of the wet grass but like I said we really do need to get a new CB in for next week or face MacKenzie/Oastler/Cruise playing center back...
