What can Simon Baker do specifically except remove the ill manager?
We are looking over our shoulder but I remain calm and confident we will stay up, with Ling in charge. He is important for the future of the club.

As optimistic as I am, I'm trying to work out why I should bother paying to go and watch us play at Aldershot next tuesday. Great first half, as soon as Craig came off I was worried. Still can't understand that change.

You hear different things. I heard that the club offered Martin Ling the opportunity to extend the squad but the manager chose not to. The club have offered Taylor help on the coaching staff but he has turned the offer down.
Therefore, I wonder if Simon Baker et al need to perhaps take a firm stand. This cannot continue if the club cannot even ascertain from their manager how ill he is. I do not understand why Simon Baker is having to go through the League Managers Association to find out how ill Martin Ling is. Surely, someone from the family can let the club know, or am I reading the statement incorrectly?
In any case - a run of 13 points out of 45 - is sackable. Managers, in this division, this season, have lost their jobs for better form e.g. John Coleman at Rochdale.
At the very least, the club should may be consider an interim manager, an old experienced head until it is clear that Martin Ling is or is not coming back.
As for the result tonight - I doubt anyone is surprised. Not with the performance, result or attendance.
Only seven points clear of the drop zone, running out of games in hand, which we can't win anyway, only THREE wins in 4 months...yet there are people who even this week are still talking about the play-offs. Are they mad? Relegation is a very strong possibility. What arguments can there possibly be to suggest otherwise?

We do not deserve our football league status playing this absolute garbage every single week, we are shocking, it's pathetic! Players played in the wrong formation, wrong players played, can't string two passes together, it looks like the players have just met each other! Taylor can't see that we need a change, when the same old crap is shown every game, it's just terrible, terrible management! Alright, with Ling not being here won't help, but ffs!! Everyone in the ground can see we need a change and we need to play 4-4-2 with two men up front and two wingers!! Oh and just to add, why was Benyon, our new striker to play off a player, up front on is own especially when we were 2-0 down!!!! That's just a disgrace and can only blame the management!
We ARE in a relegation battle, that's in no doubt, we are in a right mess!

Hate to admit it but after what i witnessed on Sat I agree, ALL the teams below us must now be looking at us as one of the teams they can catch. If nothing is done soon ie this week !! it will be us and Wimbledon for the drop.
Over to you Mr Baker & Phillips ??
Hearing Mr Taylor say after Saturdays game "I couldn't ask for anymore" not sure I've heard a statement like that one to discourage attendance EVER !!

I have to say we are in some serious trouble. That was a truly awful game of football against a very mediocre side. We gifted them a two goal lead, and never looked like we had a clue how to fix it. I can only think of a couple of player out there who didn't have a bad game. Despite the effort, Mansell's is just not cutting it in the middle. Jarvis tried hard and held the ball up well, but the support play from the rest was just not there. I think it's time someone at the club stood up and told us what is going on with Ling, illness or not, he needs to be sorting things out with the team, or they need to find us someone who can lead them forward. If this continues, relegation is more than a distinct possibility.

Something. We will go down on this form. Can't score in open play. Teams now we will fold like a pack of cards. This is a relegation battle and we are showing few signs of being a team that will pick up many points.
