We are terrible! Yes I didn't go to the game, but as its the same every single bloody week, I can imagine! Taylor hasn't got a bloody clue, he plays the same line up every week, the same old crap! He has no bottle whatsoever, he will not (like Ling) play Craig in the middle, two wingers and two strikers, 442. This is what we should be playing every game; Macklin/Thompson, Craig, Mansell (even though he's been rubbish), Bodin, Benyon and Howe. Then, we change the tactic of hoofing the ball forward, with getting the ball down and passing the bleeding thing! It's not difficult! Tbh, just to add, Nicholson has been terrible, is it worth giving Cruise a go? Or just something! We need a change!

Simon Baker, please bring in an interim manager? Taylor hasn't got a clue. If you're not willing to do that, then sign me! I don't need a salary! Just sign me because anyone can do a better job than the drivel we have to witness every week.

A few others and I could see what was coming but you're too 'abusively happy clappy', probably trying to justify your entry fee. Definately in a relegation battle now, when obvious problems sorted at the time could have seen us sitting in the play offs....I just hope that we don't get what we deserve cos I'm not standing on the terraces of the likes of Cambridge and Ebsfleet again.
Does that mean that if we stay up I can come on here boasting that I was right?

It's a big ask for the board to organise the assistance they're looking for by Tuesday, bearing in mind the discussions they must surely be having with the LMA about Ling. The more perilous our situation gets, the harder we're going to have work (and more money we'll have to offer) to persuade someone it's worth their while taking over a team in freefall with 13pts from 15 games.
No, no inside knowledge - if I'm honest I totally forgot we had the game on Tuesday!!

Surely though Tuesday will be Taylors last in charge!?

I don't think many people have predicted that we will drop, just that we would get in trouble, which we have. If you predicted that we would get in trouble and stay up, then go for it, if you were one of those who said that there isn't a problem, then probably not.

...and yes, we ARE in trouble. Anyone who thinks otherwise I pity.

God, I hope so. Though, let's be honest, it's not as if this had suddenly come about since Taylor took over, is it?

Do you know what, I think Simon Baker read your mind a couple of days ago. Keep up.

Rather harsh on Taylor. He's had this thrust upon him, and I don't think he or anyone else has suggested that his taking charge of the team is anything other than a temporary measure in response to an emergency situation.

Its a very difficult position for the Chairman, remember the manager he is looking for "needs to be available" which means he has already failed somewhere else! Their next move needs to the correct one or it could end their managerial career, so WHY would they take it on! Also in some cases why would you want them!

Also if Shaun Taylor cant step into the role , why is he there in the first place, the role of assistant manager is to assist and add value and fill in for the manager when required and keep continuity in game plan and strategy, Shaun was a tough player, but managment requires different skill sets to be successful so only time will know!

Last 5 years relagation points in league 2, no one has gone down with 48 points, so worst case this should be a target if a relagation battle is looming. 15 games to play, possible 45 points, 37 current, 11pts from 15 games 3 WINS and 2 DRAWS out of 15 games 45 pts, this should be achievable.

Relagation points:
2011/12 44 and 37
2010/11 47 and 41
2009/10 44 and 30
2008/09 37 and 26
2007/08 42 and 40

I dont think its time to panic just yet, give Shaun more time as they are not leaking goals, this is a very good sign so i would predict unless confidence is rock bottom and they free fall, i would have the squad in the dressing room and re-assure them of the facts and get them to commit to fight and scratch for every ball, win every tackle, never give up, its not the time for panic, but it is a time for a battle cry!!!

With respect Scott, I was wound up when Bill Phillips said that we wouldnt be bringing anyone in when the transfer window shut, when it was obvious then that things needed freshening up. OK its the managers job to bring someone in, I woud always be against imposing players on a manager, but surely to the opposite is also true ie; the manager saying publicly what B. Phillips chose to say.

They are saying a managing assitant needs to be brought in, but we are yet to hear anything about desperately needed loan players.

Dave C

Last 15 games 3 wins and 4 draws, In the next 15 we have 8 currently in the top half and confidence is rock bottom. Surely now we need players that will boost confidence and cover injuries, suspensions.

Know what your saying Dave C, but we must remember the season before we went down Oxford went down on 49 pts if my memory serves me right, the bottom 2 are now on 31 pts and in decent form, however I am sure that all the teams down the bottom still have to play each other and they can not all win, still think 45 pts plus is going to be needed this time around.

There is no reason why we should not get to the 50pt mark, however we are currently dead in the water at the wrong time of the season, untill we get 50 pts on the board, no one involved with the club including fans or ex-players can afford to bury our heads in the sand.

Guys,
I respect your views and i know you live and breathe it, change may be the answer, I know in most cases you get a quick reaction from players when you change managers, but taking anyone in to just help Shaun won’t make a huge difference i feel.

Take into consideration they can’t appoint a new manager while the other one is off sick, it would be constructive dismissal, so the answer is a short term manager till the manager returns.

The Aldershot game will answer all our questions, i feel a defeat or draw would support your fears and they need to do something dramatic and take a risk, do nothing option is only an option for a while, then someone needs to make a decision to support change!

Let see what happens at Aldershot as i dont see anything changing till at least the end of the week if it does.

Sad to be discussing this situation at the club, i loved my time at Torquay was the best time of my career and wish i could do something to help.
