As i pointed out the thread was started on something that hasn't turned out to be entirely true which is why i am saying this is a debate on nothing currently but we shall see.
It seems strange you guys lock threads on your forum. Are they not what forums are for - debate and rumour? Why else bother?
The point is, a club (be it ours or someone else) might rather spend decent-ish money on him now, rather than enter a free-for-all in the summer which they have no chance of winning. Whoever does it has to be financially able to justify that risk though, and i doubt it's us. Matlock are obviously convinced one of the interested parties will do it.
"Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something."
I am not against fair prices, just extortionate ones. Matlock are fully entitled to hold out for the best price they can get, but for a club like Torquay that's a bloody expensive risk and one that I hope they don't take. Hannah could turn out to be the best player outside of the Premiership, but what if it doesn't work? I'd rather have a club than a player.
Also whilst I believe that £50k is too much money, I'd hope a good deal would be made regarding sell-on and other clauses, but then that would be a risk for Matlock.
I personally wouldn't want Torquay to pay more than £20k upfront for player that low down the pyramid and even then they would have to be pretty special.
Good luck to the lad, I hope he gets a shot at playing in the league and succeeds, whoever he chooses and I hope you get a fair deal.

Since the club have not actually said anything. I think it is 'disappointing' that they are disappointed with Torquay.
And what Fonda said.
Well you are Torquay fans and since the guy who posted the original post in this thread said it came from sources in the club then they must of said something to him.
But nothing has officially come out of the club has it? There is always a rumour about some player and some club. Perhaps instead of some running to your forum stating it as fact, they should've said that our club was interested, what can you tell us? That's the fans, not the club.
So when Torquay have officially said nothing, I find it disappointing that your club would say it has.
Buckle stating an interest and saying it will be difficult to get him to sign due to competion is very different to saying it's a done deal, don't you think Fonda?
