I shall be patient with "Minty" as he's only a youngster and also knowing the fact that you can't hurry a Murray.

I'll get me coat . . .

Some counters are really high!
I know what you mean doogull, I'm only messing about. Players like Billy are great when you can get the ball to his feet, lumping it to him is no good as he will rarely win a ball in the air. Hence the need for a player in the Sillsy mould.

See, I get it. I'm just being awkward. ;P

If nothing else, we at least have an extra body in and another striking option.

No one can be as bad as Danny Mills, can they ?

Agreed Alex. I'm more interested in players finding the back of the net then finding another team mates head right now. We're doing ok without a targetman. Not great, but ok. If we continue to do ok until the end of the season then the right player could come along in the summer. If we're going to aim for season upon season improvement then we will need more options than we have right now.

Lionel Messedup of Barca isn't tall and neither is Carlos Tazer of Mank City. ;-)

As they are unavailable for loan at this time we will have to settle with what we've got and what we can get. :engflag:

Lets hope he can do the business then, as our play is absolutely useless at times with such a small strikeforce.

Tevez does at least have Dzeko with him and previously Adebayor. Messi had Eto'o and Ibrahimovic, now with Villa who although is not tall, can definitely get a decent head on the ball. We have erm... erm... Zebs who isn't exactly known for his target man abilities.

I think a decent target man is still definitely needed in games against rough 'em up opposition.
Luke.

we seem to have been short a target man for quite some time. although rendell fitted the criteria, he was more effective playing off benyon last season. sills was the last "real" target man we had, and although he did a lot for the club in his time here, i don't think he was quite good enough at this level.

i think we've missed benyon's workrate more than we've missed a big bloke to be honest. he is a real pain in the arse for defenders, and while i think billy has done well since he got his chance, our attacking strategy has had to change, and i don't think we've got it right yet. Zeba up front on his own at aldershot was just a farce.

anyone that can come in and give us options, whether they're a 6ft 5" brick shit house or a friggin' hobbit, is fine by me.

My mate is an Ipswich fan and he is raving about this guy. Reckons he is a real gem and we have done well.
