Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow, gutted because I think it'll be a really good game with a lot of players keen to impress.
Till the next opportunity

Although I was not there so cannot rate Pringle - I hope Oastler stays in tomorrow and stays around longer than this season. Will be a very useful addition for us.

On the subject of loanees, noticed Adam Smith has been a regular for Bournemouth's promotion charge, would have loved to see him back playing right back for us this year.
i agree with you, I think Oastler is a good prospect and I'd imgine he could well become a permanent signign in the summer.
I thought Pringle did ok at aldershot, I noticed him which means he was better than O Kane on the night. Eunan looked one of the best players in the league not so long ago, he looks nothing like that at the moment.
Is 5 loanees in the match squad the official rule? I have a feeling that doesn't include 'work experience' loans, I wonder if Murray is one of those?
If not
Stanley
Robinson
Tomlin
Pringle
Murray
With Oastler missing out seems likely.

The thing with Eunan I think is that he is physically shattered. He's come into the side and done a lot of graft, represented his country, played saturday tuesday then saturday tuesday etc, he's a young lad who isn't the strongest around and I think just needs a break. Unfortunately with our squad it hasn't been possible so hopefully with a few more bodies in the camp now he can get a slight rest.
Oastler looks a real good find to me, like you I really hope we can get him signed on a contract.

Agree SG about O Kane. I think a lot of it is tiredness and through neccesity he's been played. Now we've got some options lets hope Eunan maybe isn't required for a couple of games and then he comes back for the last 8-9 games or so at his best.

I think it's fairly safe to suggest that JOastler will leave QpR this summer, they are almost certainly going up and, as nice as he is, he's nothing like Premier League quality. Question is, can we afford his salary? I'm sure, as a one off, we could find his transfer fee (I assume he will be subject to one), but could be pay him enough to keep him in long pants?
Matt.

Which is why I think oastler will have to miss out. If it were me I'd have the sturdy back four of Robertson, Branston, Ellis and Nicho then have Zebs and Robinson on the wings with Mansell and Stanley in centre mid. Kee if fit and Murray up front if not Murray/Tomlin. Murray can also play as a winger I believe so could swap on occasion with Robinson/Zebs (although I'd prefer it if the latter stayed on the wing) throughout. Mansell to focus on protecting the back four and Stanley to make surging runs from midfield and dictate the play.
This way we could have Oastler, who hasn't impressed me hugely upon joining, on the bench for some extra legs towards the end of the game especially if in the lead, and also Stevens/Okane/Pringle/Tomlin etc on bench as impact subs.

Just me who when I saw this thought that we had done excellently to get Peterborough's Lee Tomlin?
Lets hope this lad cuts the mustard, aswell as Murray, tomorrow. I won't be there but it should be a good game for everyone who will.

Definately on the basis of what I saw at Aldershot, its Pringle who should be dropped from the squad rather than Oastler. Simply awful.
Like I said earlier, Tomlin is someone who really stuck in my mind from 2 or 3 years ago. Its not often than i've been wowed by a player in the BSS, but this was one case where I was definately impressed. Gavin Tomlin, Kieran Murtagh and Andre McCollin were all unbelievably good, and all got snapped up by Yeovil shortly after. Tomlin and Murtagh made the best fist of "going pro", and I'm extremely hopeful that Tomlin can replicate that form I saw.
FWIW, I'd like to see us line up with Tomlin and Stevens on the wings (with Oastler and Stanley in centre mid), with Robinson and Zebs up top and with Murray on the bench. That way we have plenty of attacking threat, and scope to mix it up.

You've been had if you think Gavin Tomlin is a big and strong forward. Quick yes, and has a great touch, but he's been too lightweight in League One this season, gets muscled out far too often.
May do a job for you, but don't expect some kind of messiah.

I.M.O. all of these new loan signings are just a cunning ploy to get everyone to buy a programme in order to find out who the f### is playing!

Many thanks for your insight Mike,i think it is more the case that,we as a fans group are happy that our club has brought in a couple of forward player's this week.
What you may or may not realise is our squad is very thin on the ground, after the sale of Benyon to Swindon ,it left us with Billy Kee as the only out an out striker ,Billy kee has been playing for a month now with an ankle injury which has now got the better of him.
So its more of a welcome sight to see Tomlin arrive at our club.

I'd be a lot more excitied if we had signed Chris Holroyd. (He's gone to Bury)

What we have now up front is options and competition for places.
